Browsers Bookshop — Local services in Olympia

It really saddens me that I'm even writing this review, because I've given this store my business in the past and been happy to support a local, independent bookstore.

But I just had a terrible experience after they sold me a faulty book and refused to either refund or exchange it, all because I didn't keep the receipt (who keeps BOOK receipts?). I purchased a copy of Dune, and after a few minutes of reading it, the glue in the binding gave out and the pages started falling out, one after another (see for yourself). I politely told them about this, showed them the book, and the refused to rectify it in any way, not even a store credit.

That's the last time I intend to set foot in that store. I certainly wont be doing any holiday shopping there. Make your own decision about where to shop and give your money, just be aware that this is a store that does not respect...

• BEST bookstore * In my opinion, this is the best bookstore in the PNW. When I think of the movie "You've Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, this is exactly the kind of bookstore I imagine Meg Ryan owns in that movie. It has so many popular books. There is also a fantastic collection of E. Francis stationary. They have cute washi tape, pencils, and other stationary brands as well. There is a small upstairs with cooking books. They may hold reading events there? I also snagged a cute cloth bag with my purchase. We now use it for our packed lunches. Free branding for Browsers Bookshop. I'm not paid...yet!

I could spend hours here. They have a nice children's section. Bring your kids, bf/gf/other- or just yourself and get lost in the world of literature at Browsers Bookshop.

Can't wait for my next trip...

I love this place the staff are so sweet and kind. There's a great selection of books. the atmosphere it's so welcoming and cozy. I could spend hours here just browsing through the books. they have comfortable seating upstairs for reading. it's kind of the best thing. highly recommend .best Bookshop. wow. wow. wow. my only complaint would be I want to buy all the books. I walk in the door and it's like oh no I want all of these books. so I guess that's a complaint about myself not the Bookshop this is a great place. the books are great the people are great the walls are great the ceiling is great it's so great. they also have nice notebooks like field notes and pens nice postcards and snazzy stuff it's a great place. did I mention how great the floors are yeah the floors...
