This use to be one of our favorite places to eat at. Not sure what is going on but our family went there last night. Finding out that your not allowed inside as it is all to go orders. The person at the counter had a mask on even though the masks have been lifted and a sign saying you need to wear one too. Before ordering I was noticing that the customers ordering before us didn’t have them on so we decided to order.
We placed our order and my daughter couldn’t decide on a dressing but the lady taking our order said the Herb sauce is her favorite so my daughter decided to go with that one. This was never put on her sandwich and on the recipe it shows “no sauce”. We ordered two large curry fries and we asked for ketchup and only five (small squeeze ones) were put into the bag which wasn’t enough for the two large fries we had ordered. Then only four napkins were put in — as the sandwiches are hard to eat and messy. This was a Togo order as we needed to eat it in our car. Which makes it very messy.
I tried to pay with a $100 and she said I just did a change order so I don’t have enough in my drawer, do you have anything smaller. I didn’t have money for a tip as this is why I wanted to have the bill broken down. Even when I asked if there was enough keto she said yes.
Not sure why this place has changed so much. Even the restaurant next to them nobody had masks on and people were going inside to eat and eating outside and the servers didn’t have masks on. Why is Amsterdam not allowing customers inside and...
Read moreAs a previous regular, it is sad to leave this bad review as the quality and service have gone downhill over the past few years. I’ve been going to this establishment for over 3 years, (probably over 40 visits in that time span) and will no longer do so after our last order.
I placed an order to go for my wife and I for a sandwich and salad along with a large order of curry fries. Once she got the order home, we found a large rusty bracket in the salad. Of course my wife refused to eat the salad, and I called up within 30 minutes of pickup of the order to tell them about this issue. The staff was apologetic, but could not authorize a refund of any type as they did not have the “power to” refund me over the phone as she paid via credit card. They said I would need to speak to a manager, who was not there, and only available at off hours. I called multiple times in the next few days only to be told a manager was not there.
Finally, I went up there tonight to have ice cream at the e-Cremery next door to bring back the salad with the bracket in it. I was given a cash reimbursement for just the salad by the employee.
Given the fact this ruin my wife’s dinner, in addition to spending multiple phone calls and finally a trip to get just a refund of the salad is quite a poor show of customer service. As someone who has worked in restaurants before as a server and assistant manager, this simply is unacceptable, and will ensure the patron will...
Read moreAmsterdam is one of my favorite restaurants in Omaha. They have two locations: one in Dundee and one in Flagship Commons. Both locations serve great food, but I prefer the Dundee location due to its atmosphere.
My go to order is the Doner Kabob on grilled flatbread with green sauce. I find the green sauce to be the right level of spicy for me. The red is a bit much for me, but on occasion I will get it, and I sweat profusely. This is served with tabouli, pickled red cabbage and carrot chickpeas. I love these sandwiches and probably eat them too much. I've tried a couple of other kabobs around town and theyre nowhere near as delicious as the kabobs at Amsterdam.
I've never been to Europe so I couldn't tell you how Amsterdams kabobs compare to those. However, I think its ridiculous to expect the food in Omaha Nebraska to taste exactly like it does in Europe.
5 stars. One of...
