What a great spot. The Underwood boasts an unassuming exterior with a rich, beautifully darkened interior adorned with a warm wooden bar top and tables. There’s never a shortage of things to do at The Wood, which sports two dart boards, a full size pool table, a foosball table and an array of board games. Pricing is overly fair, to say the very least, and the selection far exceeds what one might expect at this hidden gem.

The staff is exceptional and attentive; Dawn, the day time bartender, is bubbly and vibrant. Joe is as cool as the other side of the pillow, and throws a fun spark into the mix. Cam can be found gliding around the joint on his heelys, always smiling and engaging with guests. Rich and Rachel, the owners, truly care about their business, customers, and the well-being of the historic Dundee area. And it shows. The regulars are interesting and engaging—there is never a lull in conversation and they are very welcoming.

I used to work in Dundee and would frequent the Underwood Bar back then. It always had a very inviting feel to it and, of course, i kept coming back. I'm happy to say, now that i am living in the area, that much has not changed. Its still very welcoming with an extremely diverse crowd from night to night. The bartenders are both friendly and attentive, no matter who you are. No matter if you're looking for a neighborhood/dive bar feel with plenty of room for a large group, or just a place to grab a drink or 2 by yourself, I think you'll find what you're looking for here.

P.S. there's also a pool table, 3 pinball machines, 2 dart boards, foosball, and a jukebox as well as some assorted board games available to entertain you and your friends.

They are located in the heart of dundee, one of the biggest pet friendly neighborhood in town. They put out water for dogs.my dog and I spent 2 hours there waiting for a friend and everyone loved my pet. Another dog ran in and they both disagreed but as owners of our pets were totally OK until the owner of the bar josh appeared and antagonised everyone. He set no clear pet rules but instantly shamed me.for asking for a rag to help my bloody dog response was owners deserve the same. Absurdlybad personality. .
