Don And Millies — Restaurant in Omaha

Love/hate relationship with this location. To start, I received wonderful customer service from Brittany (sorry if I spelled it wrong) last night over the phone. My spouse and I went through the drive-thru yesterday, we usually check our order before leaving, but this time the bag was packed tighter than normal so we couldn’t thoroughly check it to make sure everything was there without spilling. We saw our burgers sitting towards the top of the bag and we also saw the kids item, we asked the person at the window if they were sure the large fry was at the bottom of the bag and they said yes. Well, we got home, and the family fry wasn’t there. I called the location and Brittany made it right for us, she was patient, understanding, and easy to talk to. Thanks again Brittany (: I’m not sure why, but we almost always have trouble with the fries at this spot. On one occasion, the fries were sooooo salty (and honestly, I LOVE salt) that it felt like my tongue was melting. Okay, no biggie... The next time we went through the drive-thru, they forgot our fries. I told the girl at the window and her response was, “Well did you check the bag!?” The amount of attitude in her tone was extremely off putting, but I guess she was having a bad day. Unfortunately, this happened at least two more times over the next few months. Even though this location is 5 mins closer to our house compared to the one on Harrison, I don’t think we can keep coming to this location anymore. I seem to have problems every time I come here, and usually the person at the drive thru window is rude. I’m just glad I got Brittany on the phone last night, her customer service was A+. This Don & Millie’s location overall is meh, I’d go to the one on Harrison...

I tried to give them another shot. Nope! Waste of time and money again. I was shocked paying $6+ for a plain cheeseburger with ketchup & mayo. Made the comment "WOW for a cheeseburger" when the cashier told me the price. I don't think she was happy about my comment. I made it out loud to myself in shock. She had a bit of an attitude or was anxious to go home. I don't know but, obviously not thrilled. When I got to my destination, about 5 minutes away, I opened the foam box and took a bite. It was cold. The bun, the burger, all cold so I looked inside the burger and it was raw! Never a good experience at any Don & Millie's. They aren't customer friendly! They definitely don't take customers into their for thoughts when it comes to customer service. But their prices are ridiculous! Has anyone ever gone to In-N-Out burger on the west coast? They sell $4.00 burgers even in this economy and they get it right all the time. Staff is nice and a great environment. They let you buy shirts through the drive thru. I can't even get Don & Millie's to do a 2 and order through the drive thru. I use to get food for a client and they wouldn't let me order separately for myself. Too inconvenient for them.

Went to this Don and Millie's on a Sunday around 1:00 P.M. , certainly a busy time. The "Order Here" and the "Pick up Here" stations should be reversed for less congestion at the counter. ""Order Here" should be first as one walks in the door. "Pick up Here" should be next, near the drink station. This would make it more streamlined. Walk in, order, pick up and move on to get drinks, napkins, etc. It doesn't make sense to have to walk through the "Pick Up" station/customers, to order and then walk back through the "Order Here" station /customers, to pick up food. Food was prepared promptly and service was good. The back door of the restaurant had an obvious "grease trail" that led to the dumpster. Obviously this "grease" is on the employees ' shoes and tracked through the restaurant! The Handicapped" parking spots were angled to lead those who park there, when backing out, directly into the path of those cars in line for pick up orders. More congestion! The food was typical of the type of food served years ago and was palatable. The chicken taco salad is quite substantial and wonderful! This restaurant just needs a little tweaking to make ordering less...
