I wish it was possible to leave negative stars. I arrived at 10 minutes before closing time as I had gone to the wrong location, my crew had already ordered. I was buying dinner for my employees after a busy weekend. I was told by the manager Gina that I had exactly 5 minutes to order my dinner & cocktail as they were about to close. I jokingly said I’d need 6 Margaritas before I could even consider looking at the menu. I was informed that was illegal. DUH. Dinner was fine, not great. Server was incredibly nice going so far as to smuggle me another drink (I had informed her she would be compensated handsomely). At 40 minutes into our meal Gina felt the need to start flashing the restaurant lights. I’ve been a dishwasher, a busboy, a bartender, & a server in local restaurants. The last customer of the day should be made to feel as welcome as the first. When I asked Gina for the name of the owner so I could make a complaint the following day I was told that she had already talked to him & that if I didn’t leave she would call the police. I’m the least confrontational man in the world. I’ve never been confronted by someone in the hospitality industry like I was tonight. From the MOMENT I walked in. During business hours. I wasn’t expecting a 5 Star Dining Experience, simply decent food and drinks with people I love and that do an incredible job for me and would never treat MY CUSTOMERS the way we were treated by the MANAGER of a LOCAL restaurant. I do my very best to support other small businesses like my own. I will never be back & will discourage all that I know never to frequent this...
Read moreHad a good meal at Fernandos. We ordered the chili con queso with mixed flour/corn chips. I had two tacos and a cheese and onion enchilada. My friend got the steak fajitas.
I think we got lucky when we arrived, there was no wait for a table, although the place was quite full. The wait staff was friendly and quick, and they kept our drink glasses full.
The tacos I had came in fried tortilla shells with that perfect sort of airy crispness too them. The beef was well seasoned and juicy. The cheese and onion enchilada though, was AH-MAZ-ING, highly recommended. I can't even describe why it was so good, just the perfect ratios of cheese and onion and sauce for the tortilla, it was yummmmm.
My friend enjoyed the fajitas, and the portion size was large enough that he got a box and will make two meals out of it. His only complaint is the common lament of anyone who orders fajitas anywhere, too much filling, not enough tortillas.
I will say we were both a little disappointed with the chili con queso, particularly with the $9 price tag that was attached. It's basically just a blob of melted cheddar cheese, you can't dip a chip in it it's too thick, and when you try to scoop some up the strings stretch forever, it has to be cut with knife and fork.
Overall an excellent meal, next time I'll skip the...
Read moreThis was the absolute worst dining experience I have had in my entire 42 years on this planet. Are waitress Angie was clearly on some type of speed or methamphetamines. She was rude dismissive We got a glimpse of her pupils on ce she wouldn't even look at us straight on in the face. She said maybe all but three words to us even during taking our order. The food was terrible I couldn't even swallow the tamale because it was so dry. The nachos would have been good if there was actually the meat and the beans on them that there were supposed to be and not just a slather. My mother's rice wasn't even cooked all the way. The enchilada was put under a broiler or something for so long that it was dry even with the sauce on it. I've done many many reviews of restaurants You can go back and look I'm usually quite nice. But there is absolutely nothing good that I can say about this dining experience. Which is sad because I also DoorDash and Lee one of the managers is a wonderful woman and I quite enjoy her. There was a young lady I'm pretty sure being the hostess I don't know her name but she was lovely. I would definitely never suggest this restaurant to a friend. Nor will I ever be back there obviously. And as everyone knows you cannot give a place zero...
