I love that they've got some health and sanitary adjustments in place for covid. You can put on disposable gloves prior to going through the line, and all the staff are wearing masks. They also have hand sanitizing stations at a few strategic locations.
The ONLY downside to an otherwise pleasant experience, was the cooking. My food was still undercooked when I received it. Vegetables were still cold and meat a bit raw... Perhaps I piled my plate too high, but it worried me how cold the food was. The rice we got for the table was also burnt like it has just been left to sit in the rice cooker or pot too long...
Good thing I could get hot tea. That alleviated my raw food worries a bit.
Images of the super dry semi burnt rice.
The wait staff was super nice and prompt though. They do a phenomenal job!
So the people are great, the food is still the hu hot you love, and they have some improved sanitary measures for covid. But my food was not cooled long enough so I was a bit concerned. We'd...
Read moreHorrible service. My 9 year old son and I waited forever for someone to acknowledge us at the front. When we were finally sat, the “host” walked away. We waited about 5 minutes, no one came. So we went to get our food. After getting our food, we again waited. I finally went to the front to get my own silverware and napkins. Someone finally came up to ask me if I needed help. I asked for someone to get our drink order and rice. Again, we waited. Finally got our very difficult drink order of a kids milk and a water. We got our drinks, but no rice. After half of our meal, our “server” brought rice. Literally sat it on the table and walked away. I said that was rude and was confronted by her with, “what did you say?” Again, I said rude and she walked away. Manager, Tom, came over for the check as I think Kayla didn’t want to face me. Tom apologized, but never offered a discount or anything. VERY DISAPPOINTED in the service and management. Sad, because this is my son’s favorite...
Read moreI didn't really know what to expect, but it wasn't bad. You put your food in a bowl, and hand it to the cooks, who put it on a hot plate/stone thing and cook it in front of you. The food could have been a 5 had the meats been, perhaps, fresher. They definately didn't seem fresh. There were many different meat/seafood options, however. The inside was a little dated, but that, along with the music selection brought me back to my high school years. IYKYK. Our server was awesome, and kept us topped off all throughput our visit. The cool thing is, you can make however many bowls you want. And they had a ton of different sauces, so most palates should be satisfied. I'd like to go back earlier in the day (we were there about 8:30 on a Saturday night), and see if it may be a little fresher. The guy making his bowl in front of me must have really liked mussels, as he took the entire pan, of which there were about 25-30. Nothing Hu-Hot could do about that, but...
