For a reliable review, read this.
This for some reason has to be a critique of not only the gym, but of other reviews here. Other reviews are completely anecdotal incidents that occur regularly within any facility as large as LifeTime. You cannot give the largest gym in our state one star because they call the raquetball courts "squash" courts. You cannot give them one star because a gym that deals with hundreds of walk-in membership inquiries every single day didn't call you back fast enough. You cannot give a gym one star because you didn't understand that you pay for your first and last month and an initiation fee when you sign up for any gym on the entire planet. You cannot give them one star because you can't sign paperwork over the phone after you worked out there for a month and then gave up on your fitness aspirations. With that being said, here's a truthful review of the gym that examines both pros and cons and not just a single incident that I can use to sugarcoat the fact that I don't want to work out anymore.
Pros: -There is A LOT of facilities here to use: Two Yoga Studios, Fitness machines organized into muscle groups, powerlifting platforms, cardio equipment of all kinds, free weights, Four+ squat racks not including the racks on the platforms, three bench presses of every type (flat, incline, decline), two full basketball courts, crossfit room, a hot tub, a kids swimming area with a waterfall, and two slides going into a swimming pool, hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, and more... -Everything is extremely clean, there are employees that walk around the floor making sure that people clean up after themselves and clean any messes left behind by someone -Extremely well-equipped gym; if you have used some type of equipment at another gym (bands, ropes, belts, etc.) you will have it here -Good supplement shop -Cafe inside -Open 24 hours
Cons: -Easily the most expensive gym in the state -Other patrons can be unwelcoming egocentric tools and a bunch of entitled kids from Westside Higschool that will stare at you if you don't have a tan in the middle of November -Trainers are genetically blessed steroid users who push inefficient conventional lifting methods that don't work for anyone but them -You can buy protein from the store here at the amazing price of only half your bank account per gram of protein -Can't really thing of one pleasant interaction I've had with an employee here -You might of noticed that I didn't include the rock climbing wall in the pros and that's because if you are at the gym there's a 100% chance it's not open -The gym presents itself as a service that the customer is lucky to have, and that's the atmosphere of the entire facility.
Overall Summary: The most well-equipped gym in Nebraska, sadly still plagued by the common problems in the corporate fitness industry. If you have the money and keep your human interaction at a minimum you'll enjoy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo reiterate what everyone else is saying: very nice facilities, HORRIBLE pricing, fees, and customer service. In my few months with them, here's ways they pillaged me.
Charge $70/month (my own fault, was under the impression it would be worth it. It wasn't). Also included some hidden fees to join which they said would get waived and never did. Charged upgrade fees and "membership change" fees when I lived in Denver for a month and wanted to use a Lifetime there (membership only includes your "home" gym, unlike essentially every other corporate gym in the country such as 24 Hour). Charge $20 for each one day GUEST PASS for your friend or family member! TWENTY DOLLARS! That includes just coming to lay out at the pool. $20 covers a month most places. Would not let me cancel membership over the phone or internet. Had to show up in person, THEN they say they need a months notice (translation, you pay for an additional 30 days AFTER you cancel). And yes, no amount of arguing will help you change "company policy."
To summarize, the facilities are nice albeit crowded at peak times, but I would NEVER recommend it to anyone due to their obvious mission, which is make as much money as possible with a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. If you hate your hard-earned money and love brainwashed employees with no customer service capabilities, Lifetime might be your kind of gym. However, if you like your money and appreciate customer service, stay...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been going to this club for a very long time. Iām ONLY giving it two stars instead of one because of how much we love the facility itself.
Unfortunately, that facility is being run into the ground by the corporate greed of āLifetimeā. All that was good about it is slowly being taken away piece by piece. The focus of this review is going to be the whirlpool hot tub.
It is a huge hot tub; the biggest youāll ever find. The problem is that it has two massaging waterfalls that cascade beautifully out of the walls. It is magical. Sadly, the company decided they didnāt want to invest into itās upkeep. So they shut them down permanently. Now, the hot tub is lackluster even compared to their other locations in different cities, due to the fact that not only is the main feature now gone, but the regular jets are underpowered, and some donāt even work.
There are little holes in the floor for water bubbling action, which have not worked in years. Itās also dirty and reeks of too much chlorine.
Did they ever ask members if it would be alright to remove the waterfalls? NO! Most people didnāt even know until they were unceremoniously shut off one day. People LOVE those! You wonāt find anything else like it in the whole city.
Of course they wonāt charge us less for removing amenities we are paying for! I truly hope āLifetimeā regains itās senses and decides to repair those waterfalls, not to mention address all the other issues with the management...
