There are so many good places to get a steak in Omaha, that it'd be very easy to overlook this gem, hidden in a strip mall off Dodge in the far western part of the city. A small bar area, but attentive and skilled cocktail maker started things out well, and soon the hostess called us to say our table was ready. Comfortable booths around the perimeter, and a number of tables in the middle of the two dining areas provided space with sufficient privacy. Table service was friendly and efficient, and the 10 oz. ribeye and 10 oz. prime rib were perfectly seasoned and cooked, and was plenty ample for moderately hungry diners. Pesto escargot, garlic mashed potatoes and maple bacon Brussel sprouts rounded out the meal in fine fashion. A decent wine list and incredible number of ice cream drinks were icing on the cake.

I must first say that I enjoy the food... However, the service that you can expect here doesn't merit even the one star. I called @ 7:45 pm on 09/14/2021. I ATTEMPTED to order prime rib and escargot for takeout and was told that they are too busy to accommodate a takeout order. So I paid them a visit to see this for myself. Once I got there (8pm), it was nearly empty. This isn't the first time I've been denied takeout. Another evening, while waiting at the bar for my takeout order, I had been lectured by a cook about how I needed to pay for my side of tomatoes. ??? Um, OK. But here's the thing, I didn't ring the food up because I'm not an employee. I have NEVER experienced such lousy service. They don't deserve the patronage. I got ribs from the Longhorn Steakhouse instead.

1985 called, it's still alive and kicking at Jerico's. My prime rib wasn't. It was however 70ish degrees. Not outside. No. That was the temp of my steak. I contemplated taking it out to my car to heat it with the seat warmer. Garlic mashed potato was literally cold to the touch. Did they scoop it directly from the fridge? This place has all the potential, and it's failing. Someone call Robert Paul Irvine from Restaurant Impossible. A $10k overhaul would do them a world of good. I've never eaten here before and won't be back. Also, my wife ordered lamb, medium rare, HAH! It was as rare as a pink elephant and just as pink too.

Visited during COVID in Jan 2021. Bread and soft butter came to the table. Bread was so good! Excellent dessert drink menu and regular drink menu. The menus given were not very descriptive. I was relieved to look at the menu online prior to read the details of the items. The menu given to us just said "pork chop" or "stuffed shrimp" didnt say what it was stuffed with. The online menu does provide a better description.

Upon arrival, it was difficult to put your coat down/around in your chair. Although large and leather, they did get your legs sweaty from sitting for a long time, and didnt have a good place to put your coat/purse because the back of the chair was too large to drape your coat on. I guess leave your coat in your car next time if you are seated in the chairs.

Ordered the "stuffed shrimp". Unfortunately hard to eat since the tails were left on. The crab stuffing didnt stay on the shrimp well. It was messy and difficult eating this meal .Ordered a "loaded" baked potato--does not not served with butter. Only sour cream, green onion and cheese. Not enough proportions however for how large the potato was. Potato did not have a salty crust on the outside either. We had to use the butter packets that came with the bread to put on the "loaded" baked potato. Another member also ordered the pork chop. Was way too salty however. Chili soup was good!

While our dinner was being prepped, i could see into the small kitchen and noticed our waitress was also assisting prepping the food. With bare hands, after she touched other peoples dirty plates, dirty credit cards, she dug deep into the decorative green bucket and pinched off some decorative greens for the plates with her bare, dirty hands. Also noticed she did the same with lemon that she seasoned. YUCK! I was happy that the cooks and wait staff were masked at all times. Didn't see any gloves on the cooks hands though.

Awkward at times because no music was being played.

Not sure if i would return for the food, but for the ice cream drinks and pies maybe.

Cleaning: No social distancing of tables of 6+ feet. No sanitizing the seats, chairs, or door knobs while i was there. Only wiped down the tops of the tables. Not sure if the paper menus were re-used or not. Salt/pepper shakers were not cleaned after each table use. Wait staff touched food/plate items with dirty hands. No gloves. Cooks not wearing gloves. Masks were worn however. Hand sanitizer is not offered on each table. Womens restroom did not have the foot door...

I'd give it 0 stars if I could. This place is terrible, the decor is outdated and dark. The chairs are worn and beaten down- the dishes are old and were clearly purchased at Village Inn when they remodeled. Worst of all was the way they treated their Passport members. If you are a passport member beware! We went with a large group and had three people on our bill, myself, my husband and his mother. They both ordered entrees where I just ordered a salad. It was brought out with the appetizer salad's and was no larger than the side salad my Mother in law received (and honestly if you can call lettice and a couple of stale croutons a salad). When the bill came they charged me double the price on the side salad they brought me as stated on the menu and when we gave them our passport card that was what they took off even though it wasn't entree. When my husband brought it to their attention the bartender who had rang up the bill refused to fix the issue. Same went for my father in law who covered his parent's meal. They had two entree's and a bowl of soup that was also brought out with the appetizers, the bartender also only took the soup off the bill. They completly ignore passport rules and don't care that they cheat their customers. They clearly are ripping people off and not putting the money back into the resturant at all. Also the kitchen is open and we sat right in front of it so we could watch them microwave half of the orders placed. My brother in law was charged for a refill on his wife's lemonade. There is no children's menu and they didn't even ask if they could get our 2 year old son anything. They had no desire to serve him or have him in their dingy, dirty resturant. Another family there eating with a small child received the same treatment- they ignored the fact that the child was even there. The steaks that were ordered came out without any salt or seasoning. Not worth the time or the money...

We were really looking forward to eating here as we've lived in Omaha our whole life and really enjoy a good steak! When we first walked in, we automatically didn't feel welcome. There was no hostess at the front and when the hostess did walk up she didn't even greet us. After being seated our waitress asked us what we wanted to drink. She asked my daughter, my daughter said a Shirley Temple, her response was "K". My girlfriend said she would have coffee, "K". I asked what kind of pop they have, she said Coke products, I said I'll stick with water, she said "K" and walked away from the table. She was NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL. Then takes our order, brings us our salads and the ranch dressing looked and tasted like mayonnaise. My girlfriend asked for her steak to be medium rare, it came well done. I asked for well done, it came medium. The steak itself did not have a spec of seasoning on it and was burnt on both sides.....could've gotten a better steak at Golden Corral or Sizzler and paid a fraction of the cost. Not to mention that we got seated at the table closest to the bar which made us susceptible to the 'bar talk' between the regulars. One guy in particular was so obnoxious and arrogant he was cussing F&% this and F%$ that, talking about drugs and blunts....all while our 7 year old daughter was sitting right there and you could hear him clear as day. Rather than any member of the staff say something to him, they just joined in on the conversation. So unprofessional!!! I will never go back. I should've listened to my dad when he told me he went there 25 years ago and would never go back himself. I'm surprised this place has stayed in...
