Mariscos El Culichi — Restaurant in Omaha

Given that were in the middle of a pandemic I decided to carry out on my first visit to this restaurant. It was a chilly evening after work and I thought I'd pay this place a visit for a comforting warm meal. I ordered the "Caldo levanta Muertos" upon the recommendation of the waitress. The wait time was minimal, it took a little less than 10 minutes for my food to be ready. The price was fair, I paid a little over $19.00 + tip for the meal but it was most definitely worth every penny.

When I arrived home I opened the bag and was surprised on how much food I got. The caldo on first impression was packed with sea food. Fish, shrimp, octopus, mussels, and more. After pouring it onto a larger bowl the whole dish came into perspective, it looked wonderful. My first taste was warm and delightful. It was perfect balance of broth and sea food. The food was hot, as if i had just been poured straight from the pot. The broth was balanced and comforting. A very simple formula to broth done right. There was so much sea food that I didn't even have enough room to finish it all. It was a dish well worth it's price.

My final impression of the dish was overly positive. This place is in my opinion a contender for Top 5 sea food restaurants in Omaha. I however cannot speak for the "sit down" experience of this restaurant as I had carried out so please have that in mind, I'm merely critiquing the food itself. Freshness and quality in sea food is key to any dish. The dish I tried was reflective of that.

Do expect to pay a little more than your average restaurant, sea food is quite pricy in this state, especially considering that we're over a thousand miles away from the nearest ocean. I'd recommend their caldos during these next few months of winter coming up. You'll be left satisfied with the freshness and quality...

Being my first time here I plan to never come back I had ordered a enchilada plate when they brought me the plate it didn’t taste or looked like anything on menu I had explained to the waitress about the food all she said was “I still needed to pay because a lot of people have been complaining about the cook”that they have over the weekend..So I was a little upset about it so I tried not to let it get to me so I tried to order once again a ceviche plate (fish)and we’ll when I got it and took one bite the fish was not cooked all the way and so I spoke with the waitress again and told her to call the manager to handle the situation because everything was going wrong for me..My thing is if you are having constant issues with your customers complaining about their food “Get you another cook”*And also I gave a tip to the young ladie that just started she was very nice and on point making sure we needed anything she did...

My wife ordered her food and it was brought incorrectly. We asked if it could be remade and were told they no longer had the items to make the food. The waitress was very kind and told us it would be removed from our tab. She later returned telling us the manager told her if we did not order something else the waitress would be charged for the meal. If we wanted to change the item it would also be an additional charge not covered by the incorrectly made food cost. We paid for the food item so the waitress would not be charged.
