Not a great experience. From the beginning, it was made very clear to us that they were very busy and had lots and lots of other weddings to plan. As a result, plans for our wedding we handled last minute; although, we were assured that it would all be ok when we asked about it.
Fast forward to the wedding day... We never saw Summer. We never got introduced to the person who was running the show.
We wrote an email to the owner with some of the concerns that we had from the wedding day. Her response was apologetic, but also came off to me as defensive and "poor me." After telling us how her team has been working days, nights and weekends, she reassures us that she and her team are turning away requests so that they can provide high quality to services.
After going through each of our concerns, Jennifer explains to us that "There is no one working harder right now than those in restaurants/catering/hotels and all levels of hospitality all over the country." My wife is a special education teacher. I am a medical student. We both absolutely love what we do. However, this comment from Jennifer hurt us both, and made us feel like she could not understand how we feel during these times. I think it is fairly safe to say that schools and hospitals have been seriously impacted by COVID, and Jennifer's comment made us feel as though the our challenges are insignificant compared to hers.
While I certainly appreciate their efforts and wish their business continued success in the future, our experiences with catering creations were sub par. The email response from Jennifer added to the dissatisfaction.
Should someone reach back out to us and work with us to make things right, we're happy to update our review!
10/18/21 update: we received a check from catering creations for 2.8% of what we paid them for our event. There was no email or communication from them,...

The food and event staff were wonderful, but dealing with Catering Creations prior to our wedding left a LOT to be desired.
We fell in love with the venue and were given a menu with prices. The next day we receive our 'welcome' email stating that we can expect the cost to be 20% higher than what we were told. 20 percent! We understand that costs had gone up and difference of 5 or 10 percent would be reasonable, but it is also not our fault that they had failed to update their menu during the prior 2 years of the pandemic. The venue was also unaware of the price increase and was quite surprised by the email we received.
Communication was tough as well, it took a week to get a response to our concerns about the price increase. Once we got things figured out (the venue reduced their cost for us), we never heard from our contact again. The venue had to make contact on our behalf the month before the wedding and my coordinator had to be the one to reach out the week of to figure out when they would be putting out the linens and setting up.
I would love to eat and drink at any event they are catering, but would not ever want to be the one planning the...
Read moreI planned my wedding from afar for 200+ people - stressful to say the least! But Catering Creations did everything they could to make it easy! Our reception was at The Durham Museum - which meant out vendors only had a few hours to set up. Catie Kirby helped execute all of this and from what I saw made it look effortless! Everything looked spectacular! Seriously - if you are planning a wedding at The Durham Museum look no further because this is the best vendor choice we made, hands down. they coordinated all of our rentals start to finish. Catie is also very easy to talk to and responsive!
Our guests enjoyed the meal - we had countless people asked who our caterer was because everything was so flavorful. And not "wedding food". Which was sooo important to us because we both love good food - but it is challenging to serve 200+ people. Our buffet was presented beautifully, and was very classy. We did a signature drink and everyone raved about it.
The only thing we would have changed was making sure we had more beer at the bar but everyone had a good time because everything else was still fully stocked! And it gave my dad a good joke to open...
