I've been coming to this place for many years now. Pretty much whenever I'm in Ontario. You can't miss it here. They're known for their pies, for good reason, too. They're delish! My personal favorite is the apple pie. Today I ordered the Monte Cristo (turkey, ham, American and Swiss cheese sandwich, dipped in egg batter and grilled, topped with pineapple ring, maraschino cherry and powdered sugar, $9.25) with a side of waffle fries and my husband got the stuffed strawberry French toast (filled with sour cream filling topped with strawberries or blueberries compote and whipped cream, one slice $6.25 or 2 slices $8.25). I've only had one other Monte Cristo in my 23 years of existence so I'm not sure what constitutes a supreme one but I thought mine was delicious! The bread was so good! Tasted like French toast! I spread blackberry jam on it for some POW and dang did it deliver! The fries dipped in fry sauce paired excellently. My husband thought his French toast wasn't as "filled" as promised but still enjoyed his meal! He helped me finish mine plate, heehee. I thought service was rather slow. It was 10 minutes before we got our drinks and another 25 before our food was served. They opened up their party room in the back and seemed unaccustomed to it. I believe they were also short staffed because I saw our waitress serving at the main dining area too. So I'm not going to dock them down over something they can't control. Overall, this experience was just as fabulous as my many previous visits. Already looking forward to the next one!

Discover a hidden gem in the heart of Eastern Oregon, a quaint diner that exudes charm and warmth, making it a must-visit for anyone in town. This cozy spot may not boast the typical five-star restaurant accolades, but it holds a special five-star rating in the hearts of those who appreciate its unique character and consistently delightful offerings. There's something about this diner that captures the essence of Eastern Oregon, from its inviting atmosphere to the attentive staff who make every visit memorable. It's a place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to savor every moment along with your meal. The highlight of this diner is its all-day breakfast menu, a rare find that brings joy to breakfast lovers. Whether it's a bright early morning or a lazy afternoon, the breakfast here is worth indulging in. The eggs Benedict, a personal favorite, is a culinary delight, perfectly prepared every time. And don't forget to treat yourself to a slice of their heavenly banana cream pie – it's the perfect sweet ending to a satisfying meal. This diner isn't just a place to eat; it's a destination that has won over hearts year after year. It's a testament to how a simple, unassuming place can be extraordinary in its own right. A five-star experience in its uniqueness, this diner is a treasure in Eastern Oregon, waiting to be discovered and loved by many more.

Our waitress was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and honestly made of feel at home. The cinnamon rolls was the best thing on the menu. I ordered the French toast eggs, bacon and sausage. They make their bread onsite and you can tell. The price is kinda high for what you get, but it did the trick. Not a bad restaurant though.

I was so excited to try this place since it has great reviews!

My family of 3 went in. Ordered our drinks, I ordered diet Dr. Pepper and water. Never got my water and "diet" was not diet. So I asked if she would just give me diet Pepsi so I knew for sure I would be able to taste it was diet. All three of us ordered over medium or hard eggs. All of our eggs were over easy. The chicken fried steak, which is why we chose this place, was okay. It had an odd flavor but I'm sure people like it otherwise they wouldn't have it. Gravy was bland and the pancake was served cold and rubbery :(

We got our checks, separated amongst the 3 of us based on what we ordered. My check was missing my drink. I told the waitress it was missing. She went and added it on. I go to pay, he scans my order slip and I pay. The receipt that printed out was for $26 something when the order slip I gave him was $17.00 for cash payment and $17.51 if I paid by card. He refunded the $26.00. But when I paid the "$17.51" because I was paying by card, the receipt came out was for $18.04. I told him I understood the 3% card charge but that when their receipt says $17.00 cash and $17.51 for card that the 3% has already been applied to the $17.00 hence the $17.51. It is wrong for them to be charging 6% instead of 3% which they tell you will be added and print on the receipt. When confronted he said "yeah, I don't know". So, when you pay with card please know you'll get ripped off an EXTRA 3% on the "3%" card charge. $17.51 included the 3% card charge and there should not have been an extra 3% added to the...

Upon arrival the staff felt very passive aggressive, they weren’t very welcoming or friendly at all I felt more unwelcome and uncomfortable the entire time I was there. Our waitress definitely didn’t have proper mannerisms with us as I was hearing her be way kinder to other tables around us, I was listening in on her actually making the other tables feel welcome and interact in small talk with them, whereas when I said something so simple as “thank you” she would replied with an “mmhmm” or “yup” which confused me because at no point were we disrespectful or problematic customers at all. I didn’t even complain when I pulled a hair out of my mouth from my burger (it was not my hair mind you) because I felt so uncomfortable already. She never checked to see how our food came out, she asked if I wanted my drink refilled once but my friends cup was empty almost the whole time, when giving us our bill she just tossed it slightly over the table and walked away. I was a waitress for YEARS this is not how you make your tips- if you clearly hate your job so much why don’t you find a new one? Put a bad taste in my mouth all day, debated on this review but I decided to do it. My friend showed me this place and I decided to come back because the cinnamon rolls were so great but with this last experience I will probably not be returning, which I know in the long run doesn’t mean much for “one person” but I can’t imagine how many other people have walked in and...
