TL;DR Try at your own risk as they have a B health rating. The AYCE sushi itself is "just ok" at best...This place needs new management, a new sushi chef, and new wait staff all trained with customer service skills and personal hygiene within the food industry. This place is very lacking in service and quality.
FULL REVIEW This review is for two experiences, the most recent being on Sunday 8/4/19 at around 7:30pm.
First of all let me start off by saying I believe that this place is in need of new management and/or at least a complete revamping of how things are worked here including customer service training.
FOOD One of the first things you think of when going out to eat is "how good is the food?" Well I can say, at least for the AYCE Sushi, that its just ok at best. It's not exactly the worst AYCE sushi I've ever had, but its definitely down there in my bottom 3. The sushi itself: Size of fish served was somewhat inconsistent. Most of the sushi was a decent size but some were just a bit too big (most people think bigger fish = better sushi, but let me tell you that's not always the case). Also it was prepared and served inconsistently as we ordered yellow tail twice; the first time it came out served with sauce drizzled on top and on the plate, the second time it came out with no sauce at all. Sushi Rolls: Some of the people who participated in AYCE with me are almost severely allergic to avocado, and since its in most rolls, we asked for the avocado to be served on the side (we told the waitress as well as wrote it down on the order sheet). Of course the rolls were prepared as normal; avocado in the roll itself instead of on the side like we asked. We've tried before to just "poke" the avocado out but of course it sticks to the rice. Now, I understand that menu pictures are stock pictures but the sushi chef could also at least try to make the rolls appear appetizing and/or somewhat like the pictures they have. But of course that didn't happen. One of the rolls we ordered was the dynamite roll. Sadly it was kind of bland, not a lot of sauce, and the scallops and craw fish seemed a tad under cooked. Most every sushi place that has this roll or something similar, it comes served with plenty of sauce, scallops and craw fish are cooked in tempura, and when you eat it it's very flavorful.
SERVICE (Late Sunday dinner (7:30pm) and only 2 other tables aside from ours....) First thing you notice when you sit down: the tables are sticky. Next thing you notice: the restaurant is nearly empty. Almost any restaurant you go to, the wait staff comes by every so often asking if everything's good. Not here. There is minimal staff here. The first time we went, just 1 waitress and 1 sushi chef. This time it was 2 waitresses and 1 sushi chef. The 1 waitress that we had last time, didn't do much anything until about 30 minutes before we were done with dinner. Both the other waitress and the sushi chef seemed like they didn't really even care to be there and were ready to leave. As part of our AYCE sushi, we ordered some appetizers (baked mussels, edamame, gyoza, and miso soup). We only received the baked mussels, after receiving all of our other sushi. We had to remind the waitress about the other appetizers. We eventually did get our gyoza and miso soup, and I am realizing just now that we still never got our edamame... When we told the waitresses about the avocado allergy and how the rolls we ordered kept coming with avocado, they had the sushi chef remake the roll which is great, but the common courtesy of an apology for the mishap was never extended to us. Worst of all, I noticed that the waitress who didn't seem to care to be there was picking at her face. Seemed like she was wiping off sweat, or picking dry/dead skin or acne or something. But I didn't see her wash her hands. Luckily I noticed this after we were done eating, but it still begs...
Read moreUpdate: 8/11/25 Came back for another group dinner because we loved this place so much. Unfortunately this will be our last time spending money here. Food was amazing. Our waitress, however, was horrible and unprofessional. We had 6 people which we were anticipating to pay for gratuity becuase its 5 or more. But since 2 people didn't want AYCE, she made them sit at the table NEXT to us. We didn't have this problem with our other servers when we had a big party, we all sat together. When dinner was done, she handed us 1 receipt with $45 gratuity for 6 people. I asked her to separate into 2 checks because its only 4 of us that had AYCE. She came back with 2 checks with the gratuity in both checks. I asked her nicely to take it out because she made us sit at separate table therefore its not a table of 6. She refused and said she can't change it in the system. I asked for a manager and she said there's no manager near closing time. I refused to pay the gratuity and she started yelling saying " ok since you don't want to pay, you can just pay for the amount and I will pay the rest with my own money." How dare her make it sound like I don't want to pay in front of other customers. She finally changed the amount without the gratuity without a problem all of a sudden. I still went ahead and tip, on my own terms.
New found spot for AYCE sushi. Pros: Every dish we ordered was delicious! Fun atmosphere at night, chef even gave us a round of sake bomb on the house. Cons: service is slow during the day, even when it comes to getting the check. You literally have to flag the down. They charge you for extra condiments without telling you. I asked for extra pickled cucumbers that they brought out with the wasabi and they charged me $3 for a little cup. The area is a little ghetto, located down the street from Ontario...

The manager Angie always has such a terrible attitude, has never heard of the phrase "the customer is ALWAYS right" and this Valentine's Day was no different. She walks into her shift around 6 pm, greets the first and second tables, SKIPS ours completely and even brags about having regular customers instead of trying to be a nice waitress, just comes in and starts yelling, telling us to be patient and "damage control." A manager should never have to do damage control, the ambiance is what the customer decides to make it.
That being said, she, the manager ANGIE, said she will treat us better next time, patted my partner and I's shoulders and gave us the most impudent smile. Angie there will not be a next time, you are the rudest Employee we've ever had the misfortune of meeting. Last but not least they charged us SIX DOLLARS EXTRA for thin slice lemon??? We are not asking for bluefin tuna, or TORO.... They make it seem like mission impossible to thinly slice a whole lemon.
Just a terrible LAST experience and I will never go back, truly a disgusting place and the manager is at the helm of this place that once had amazing quality. Now just a piss poor attitude in the entire restaurant. And a mediocre menu made by dun dun dun, the...
