We knew as soon as we pulled up to the parking lot that we'd go inside, both drive through lines were wrapped around the building and backed up into the lot so they were already quite busy. In most cases we would just go somewhere else but I'm glad we didn't. Not only was the food amazing but the service was even better. My husband has worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years now so he was shocked at how quickly we got everything despite the drive through lines being so long.. The young lady taking our order was still learning the system but she was so polite and made sure everything was right. They were really patient with me making changes to the burger as well. And then the woman who brought out our meals and offered any sauces we may need, she was even more sweet and polite. I actually spilled my drink and felt terrible for it but the young man who came to mop it up even told me not to worry about it. At the time it happened, the lobby was starting to fill up faster and faster so I felt worse given the business at that moment but everyone remained kind and assured me it was okay. I still insist that I should've cleaned it myself. But altogether, I loved the inside dining experience and the food was the best part. Being pregnant and craving jalapeños, I got a number 4 with no cheese or mustard and it is legitimately my favorite burger ever now. I saved half just to have more later. Lmfao my husband said his mushroom Swiss and said it was the best he'd ever had. My son had a great time too, not liking spicy things much he still liked the Whatasauce and the spicy ketchup.. The whole family had a great time and loved our food. It's a happy addition to the Auburn/Opelika area. I wish I'd gotten their names to give them all the kudos they deserve but it was the service crew today 8/4/2021 right around 5:45-6:00 p.m. but we were there dining until closer to 7. They also never insinuated that we should leave since they were getting busier. Which had happened to us before at other fast paced restaurants. 10/10 would recommend. As a matter of fact I'll be going back pretty...
Read moreLong wait for overly expensive barely warm burgers that were nothing special and much too salty/cold McDonalds-like fries. 4 cars in front of me and it took 30 minutes to get to second window. Captive lanes in drive-thru, but on right side lane one could jump curb and cross grass towards Arby's to escape (I would have after 10-15 mins. if I'd been in that line). Can't imagine what is happening inside for line to move so slowly. I've been to other Whataburger restaurants and never suffered a long wait, even when there were many cars in front of me, and quality of food was much better. Ordered add-on peppers and onions on two burgers and they weren't added to either. Stupid questions to verify order (as if someone could escape line) with confusing terminology that didn't match that which appeared on menu board. Everyone visible working there moved very slowly, except those heading for their car to leave. First and last trip to this Whataburger,. Store manager must know by now exactly how many burgers they are going to sell in any given hour of the day, so they could have patties queued up and cooked patties ready exactly when they need them. It's like they are trying to make Sonic and Jack's look a lot better than they are, if only for short time spent in drive-thru. Don't line yourself up with the right-most "pay here" window or you'll be reaching back over your shoulder to reach tiny left window where you actually pay. Probably best to completely avoid the drive-thru and walk inside to order, at least to see if anyone in there is actually doing anything to get your order complete in a reasonable amount of time. Cook (drunk/druggie/animal) from a local/recently failed restaurant is working in kitchen - if I'd known in advance I'd never had considered eating here. He says managers are useless and won't help out when they are busy. No replies from management to any reviews of Opelika store, so they obviously don't give a schet...
Read moreSecond Trip to whataburger in Opelika. First time I said I wasn't going back. The food was good the problem was it took so long to even put the food order in. Then it took so so much longer on the food. The price for the food I thought was to high. I had a lot of reasons not to go back.
Second Trip my wife was with me on my Pallet route she wanted whataburger. I didn't want it prior bad experience.
We went in the order was taken quick. Food came out in a short period the food even tasted better.
What happened, I thought this wasn't like this the first time.
O yes I even compared it to the way Sonic tasted when I was younger. The size of the burger was not as big as the old sonic burger but the taste.
My wife said she miss the way Sonic use to be good food good quantities and memorable experiences I nodded my head.
O and the price was not as bad I did forgo fries and a drink. My wife didn't I had plenty drink in my truck.
This experience was good. I had my doubts at the beginning I'm glad my wife wanted to eat there.
A few days later I was going to take her back there our schedule didn't permit it though.
I see people doing the taste comparison with whataburger, five guys, in and out other restaurants on the quality of burgers and prices on YouTube. I've eaten at some of the other ones for the money and quality I have to say whataburger is the Winner
I eat at a lot of restaurants to many considering my wife is an excellent cook and cooks whatever I ask when ever I ask. I do a lot of reviews and speak my Opinion my experience when it pops up on my phone
Everyone experience will be different I enjoyed everything about this time maybe my wife being a part of it is part of it. O also she paid.
Maybe we will go this Saturday or Sunday I'm still going to forgo the drink. It's way cheaper to...
