Let me start by saying this could have very easily been a single star or a two star review. I placed my order today and was given my receipt as usual. After filling my drink, I noticed what appeared to be a regional manager behind the counter with the other employees. He was very diligently making his way back and forth, talking to what seemed like every employee. Shortly thereafter, he was out in the dining area with a female employee. He said “As the manager, you can . . .”. At this point I realized who he actually was. I guess the employees were prob walking on egg shells but I started paying attention. Not only did he tell employees how to be more productive, I also heard him compliment and even help employees with their duties. My number was called so I sat down with my food. Before I took a bite of my burger, I cut it in half (I’ve had issues with these new “all beef” patties still being slightly pink at a couple of different locations) and then eventually into quarters. As I suspected, I was back at the counter, and to my surprise, he saw the box in my hand and immediately asked what the problem was, and how could he correct it. Yes, it was corrected immediately and he was genuinely concerned about the issue. I know most of the employees prob don’t like “the big boss” being around but I do have to say, this gentleman seemed very dedicated to his company, facility, employees, and yes, the customers also. As I was ready to depart the building, he then asked if my meal was okay. I then asked him if I could mention his name in my review. So with his permission, here is a shout-out to Mr. Earl and the employees on Creswell Lane. Keep up...
Read moreSo, two stars because they have good food, but I just called to find out if the dining room is open and got blatantly and intentionally hung up on. I was polite and quick to ask because I respect that they're probably very busy. The lady who answered had time to make a full introduction, but apparently didn't have time to mutter "yes" or "no" to my question. She just hung up. Interestingly, this type of attitude is prevalent in Opelousas even during regular times, not just these "unprecedented" times. I realize McDonalds is a huge conglomerate and I probably won't make much of a difference, but I was under the impression from commercials that they - along with all the other businesses that are open and pandering for business during this limited-dining-room period - are especially appreciative of their customer base at this time. Unfortunately, I'm finding many restaurants don't act like it. That's okay ... dining room or not, maybe I'll spend our money buying my family food at a place where the staff doesn't mind being...
Read moreThe wait to order was long, but to be fair, it was 12 pm. on a Friday. They answered my questions and were friendly when I was ordering until I asked why the frozen cokes weren't $1 like advertised on the sign advertising it. The only response was, "I will tell my manager, and the price isn't $1. Did you still want them or not?" We got them. At the window pickup, I asked for sauce because it was ordered and not in the bag. They handed me 3 sauces for a 20 piece. I asked how many the 20 pieces came with and was sarcastically given the "McDonald's Math" lecture like I am supposed to already know which meals warrant what amount of condiments I get. If I need to pay for extra, then tell me. Food wise, the fries were cold, and the basket wasn't full, so it was not worth the $4 plus price. All in all, I wouldn't go back to...
