
My husband and I came to Orange Beach to celebrate our anniversary and we had a wonderful time as always until we went to the Angry Crab Shack. I was so excited to go here I had been watching videos all day about your restaurant and could not wait to experience it for myself. So we walk in and before we are seated my husband asked if we could be seated outside on the patio. Which we were told that we could not because you did have the staff for that. We said ok and had a seat where Shannon or server was taking really good care of us. Not 5 minutes later the same hostess that told us that we could not sit on the patio walked passed us escorting a family of 7 people to the patio my husband and I just looked at one another and shook our heads. We were really upset and started to leave so Shannon comes back and she could see the frustration on our faces and she asked what was wrong? My husband stated that we had asked if we could be seated on the patio and was told that we could not because there wasn’t enough staff but 5 minutes later a Caucasian family come in and is seated on the patio.Shannon stated that they aren’t suppose to sit anyone out there because they only had 3 servers and the bartender and that the family said that they would leave if they could not sit on the patio saying what do you do lose 7 people money? The reason I wanted to sit on the patio is because I have several health issues and with coronavirus I just wanted to continue to stay safe but anyway I was like wow so because it was just the two of us we didn’t matter? So we ordered which at this point I was turned all the way off. I just wanted my food eat and get the hell out of there. Read moreOnly good thing about this visit was that the food was good. The hostess at the beginning did not listen to anything we requested. We came in with a party of 12 and told them that we wanted to sit inside. We were informed that we could have tables beside each other inside. They had two available tables beside each other but still proceeded to sit other parties that came in after us and extended our wait time until we agreed to sit outside since those tables were no longer available. Service was good while at the restaurant and food was great. We received our tickets with an 18% gratuity included, which was completely fine considering there were 12 of us. After we left the correct amount and left the restaurant (actually tipped over what was required), I received a call from “No caller ID” stating that we did not leave the correct amount and that they had my license plate number, phone number, and name and turned me in the the Alabama state police. After calling back, the waitress continued to state that we did not leave the correct amount and the discrepancy between what we paid and the amount that we allegedly owed did not match up. We decided to drive back to the restaurant to clear any unknowing wrongdoing, then her story completely changed to insinuate we did not do anything wrong. My brother went ahead and left the “52.00” tip that was allegedly left off. We will not be back at this restaurant and are disappointed at the lack of professionalism and integrity. Read moreyall. i have NEVER written a single review in my entire life. please disregard every other review of this place and listen to me. our server was joe & we sat at a high top at the bar. we went in around 8 and they closed at 10. we ordered and got our food within 15 minutes. i got 3 pounds of crawfish with cajun seasoning and hot. the other person i was with got the shrimp and crab combo with the same seasonings.
we were very skeptical to try this place because we are from south louisiana… meaning that it’s really hard to find something that’s not at home that tastes just as good. we were thoroughly blown out of the water. crawfish was 12 a pound. for the way season is going, that is a STEAL. they were bigger than midsize and delicious. hospitality was amazing. joe was hilarious and extremely welcoming (GIVE JOE A RAISE!!!) for both of us, the tab came out to $97. the cook made us feel very special as well. he’s from pensacola but cooks like a TRUE cajun! i’m still full from last night.
the only thing i will say as a “critique” is spice level. hot to us was mild. i would recommend the highest spice level if u have a good heat tolerance. i don’t really have a good heat tolerance and mine wasn’t spicy at all. the mix is super buttery and that definitely helps take away the spice. the potatoes were bigger than normal and super good. whenever you get the boils they come in a bag. take the bag and SHAKE IT UP. get all the seasoning in there. put on that bib. u gonna need it.
