Sandshaker at the wharf — Restaurant in Orange Beach

Pre concert stop last night to get food and a couple of drinks. Spent over $60 for 2 "snacks" and 2 drinks. Cool, no problem. The bartender with long blond hair does not have the personality to be a bartender. It took us an hour to get our food, pork sandwich and wings, yes they were busy, but when we went to get our food, the bartender blatantly ignored both myself and my husband on 2 separate occasions . She disappeared without a word, another bartender came over to pour some drafts, was asked by others where the other one went, just ignored everyone and walked back off. We have a sand shaker here in Pensacola and it absolutely the opposite. There also appeared to be a 'manager' flitting around getting his buddies free? drinks and just not managing. They were definitely not properly staffed for the crowd, or with the right personalities. The regulars do seem to get more and better attention than other patrons, but I'm just absolutely flabbergasted at the service, attitude and overall running of the establishment. Door guy was super nice, outside bartender was super sweet and a guy working behind the bar was out working everyone. 2 employees out of 5, that I saw, on a busy night working is just pathetic. Meh. Bartenders were not fit for customer service. (If you don’t like people…try adding alcohol! 🤷🏽‍♀️) Other than the front door, staff is severely lacking. Bathrooms were not stocked & gross even after being informed. Male security were more worried about clearing out guests than making sure they left safely with their party. For an after hours bar, they sure didn’t want it to be open after hours…at least that’s the impression we got. We were presented with our bill an hour or so pre-closing despite being packed due to concert. We had to reopen a tab & pay TWICE! Seriously. Why? Horrible experience. If there were a forest fire and this was the only place of safety, I would choose being burned. We were very excited to visit a new establishment during a wedding weekend but quickly came to realize this place is very territorial. Even though our party was around 8 people, we were harassed by "locals" as they referred to them selves. While the staff were "ok", nothing was done to stop the harassment of the bride or the constant antagonizing of the group. Very disappointed in this place as our family is actually "local" and our intention was to support "local" businesses during this trying year. If you visit the #TheWharft, please visit anywhere other than this place. You may just save an unpleasant experience...
