What a way to wake up. Been wanting to try this spot for years. Got around to it with a couple buddies. When we first arrived, there were mounds of people everywhere in the parking lot, waiting for their table. Parking lot is quite stuffed. Wait time was around a half hour. Well worth the wait for the food quality & recipes. Ordered the stuffed chicken biscuit sandwich, with an egg and cheese on top, also came with honey hot sauce. Had a mixed fruit cup, hot cinnamon roll and cheesy grits. The grits weren't impressive. The rest was. Was surprised to see kiwi, canteloupe and strawberries in the mixed fruit. The chicken on the sandwich was very moist and tender, with a great crunch on the outside. The diner coffee was very good and had a pleasant aroma to it. My buddy didn't know what to order between short stack or large pancakes, the picture will show how enormous the pancakes are. Be ready to eat a lot of it. Service was on point with timing and etiquette. Place is quite bustling and cramped, very much a movie style diner. Appealing atmosphere for energetic preference. Leaving Jacksonville next year, will have to visit again before departing.

This was my first time visiting here with family and we left in such a happy 😃 mood Despite the name lol!! Our service was wonderful from the time we checked in with the hostess to the time we walked out the door. We got the waffle with blueberry and strawberries with whip cream, the French toast with smoked sausage, and the grumpy burger with a side of hash brown. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a huge hit I would just recommend a cup of ice if you like it cold. We all loved the food we had it was wonderful and so tasty 😋 ! We had a big party of 7 and they were able to accommodate us comfortably. The wait time was over 30 mins so be prepared to wait if you go on a busy day. While you wait they do offer shaded areas to sit in, along with coffee and water to drink. My only con is the parking so that’s why I would give them a 4.5 but far as food and service goes they get 5stars!!!! I’m going back and would recommend you giving them a try out to!!

What a great spot for breakfast! The staff was exceptional and always made sure we had what we needed. I understand why the orange juice is so highly recommended, they squeeze it fresh daily! The food was definitely above average but I think next time I'll try something other than french toast. Perhaps pancakes or an omelette. Husband enjoyed his waffle 🧇 as well. Satisfying and popular destination for the locals. Update* gave Grumpys another go and was disappointed by the lack of communication. I didn't realize the meat had extra charges to my meal until afterwards. When my host immediately asked for bacon or sausage I assumed it came with the waffles. The orange juice was around $5 on its own too, Unfortunately it tasted alright, but not worth the price. Everyone seemed a little tired and ready to go home too. I think we came in at a bad time. Which I understand. But paying $40 for two people is a lot for the food but I guess that's just how the world works right now.

I ordered a blueberry waffle, grits, eggs scrambled with cheese, and OJ. Half of the blueberries were shriveled up and had a bad taste. I took them off my waffle. The grits were bland. The orange juice was the best thing I had but not worth $5. Margie was was walking around checking on customers. I informed her about the blueberries. She went to speak with my waitress. Margie came back and asked if my waffle was ok. I told her yes. Margie said she would take the blueberries off. My waiter came back to apologize as well. She was sweet. While looking over at their OJ machine a fly flew on the other half of my waffle. So, I didn’t eat it. When I received my check it was $21. It didn’t appear anything was subtracted. I stilled tipped. I’ve had better at Waffle House unfortunately. I did like the games set up for kids and the water station outside. Update: I was sent $25 in Grumpy Bucks. Thanks for making things right.

Why can I only give 5 stars?!?! Grumpy's deserves at least 6. Let me start by saying that our server, Elizabeth, was fantastic! She was professional, had excellent knowledge of the menu, and was very attentive. I had the Hash Brown Omelet and a cup of coffee. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. It was served up fast too; which can be important in a breakfast restaurant. The doors open at 5:30 am. There aren't too many sit down restaurants that open their doors that early. The menu offers all of the breakfast and lunch classics with plenty of specialty offerings as well. Another bonus is that the entire menu is available all day. Do you have a craving for meatloaf and mashed potatoes at 5:30 in the morning? No problem! Grumpy's has you covered. The whole place from the dining room to the rest room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Grumpy's will be my go to breakfast hangout from now on.

My bf and I finally trekked over to OP to try Grumpy’s yesterday. We got there a little after one and only had to wait a few minutes. Emily was an awesome server and very helpful since it was our first time. I got the fresh squeezed OJ, Grumpy’s loaded chicken biscuit and a side of home fries. My bf got Grumpy’s country breakfast with french toast. He said the French toast was the best part. The chicken biscuit was so good. The chicken was definitely homemade fried chicken and so was the biscuit. I will say you will need your fork to finish the biscuit because it falls apart. It was so good I wanted a second sandwich but I was full. The home fries were yummy with great seasoning. I can’t wait until the 210 location opens. We will definitely be there a lot.
