09/19/2025: Went here to do some volunteer work when my job offered it. Needless to say, it brought awareness to me. You see these types of places on TV and movies but didn't know there was a place like this in my own city. They work everyday, feeding thousands of people a week for those who are struggling, less fortunately, endured disaster, poor kids who are lucky to eat 1 meal a day, etc.
This is God's purpose to care for those who you don't even know. Those who are in pain and suffering, begging to eat something everyday. These people do it right and provide food as best as they can for as many people as they can. They even have a 96 year old man, volunteering for the last 30 years. If that doesn't tell you something, you're hiding behind a tree.
They need donations. They barely have much for non-perishible foods such as canned meats, vegetables, soups, rice, etc. If everyone pitches in like 5 cans a week from each person in the city, I'm very positive they will be more successful in feeding every single person that are struggling.
Final saying. Look, I've organized the little they have for canned goods and gotta say...if you don't like this, then don't pass it off to someone else. I'm talking about beans. Mainly canned black beans. I think I saw like 35 cans of black beans. I'm a retired chef and I like beans but dude...can you imagine forcing yourself to eat black beans cuz that's all you have? Cut that out. Give some meaningful foods like soups (not just tomato soup), huge bags of rice, SPAM (yeah, i said it...100% better than black beans), canned mixed vegetables, Beenie Weenie, and so on. Dont forget drinks like Gatorade, refrigeration not required Soy Milk, bottled waters, those little juice boxes...Stuff where you can imagine your own kids happy to eat. Oh, and if you attend church, have them do their part and have the congregation donate once a week.
Reach out to Waste Not, Want Not and ask where to drop off these goods. With how things are going in this country, you really don't know if you're the next person...
