Del Taco — Restaurant in Orange Township

Honestly, Del Taco has great tacos (like quality-wise, they taste like tacos you'd make at home for taco night), but the staff here is really not helpful for a new location. Ordered 4 Del Tacos, which are supposed to come with tomatoes, and each of our tacos had two tiny diced tomato pieces if they had tomatoes at all. It was evident that whoever was making them did not care or want to be at work. I'd like to say that was the only staff issue, but when we tried to tell the cashier what sauces we wanted—just a few of each— she took an extreme attitude about us asking for sauces, mentioned the sauces to the older woman who was working, who then threw 3 sauce packets in the bag. Not even enough for each taco. We had to ask for more, and we were clearly bothering them. We paid in cash, and the woman at the drive-through literally dropped the change in our car on my significant other, so we had to then pick coin up from between the seats and the floor. They were so overtly rude that it was almost comical. I'm giving three stars because the quality of the ingredients is good, and this is a new store. Hopefully, the franchise owner can sift through the bad attitudes and get good employees. Because of the staff, we won't be back for a while if we do come back. I have had such a horrible experience here I initially ordered a del taco combo and asked for two additional tacos for the rewards program sign up award . I have only received the two tacos without the added condiments. I asked for which was guacamole. They have proceeded to charge me with the guacamole without it being in there. I understand if my order was discounted for the reason of the coupon but i wanted to order more. I had to take the taco out in the drive-through and dig my finger through it to show them that they did not put the guac over the protein. I asked the lady would you like to see this And she said no I don’t wanna see it. It was a very rude of her to do that and honestly there’s a reason why this place wasn’t here before I honestly felt embarrassed for coming back in line and felt unwelcome by the staff. Went through the drive-thru today to order lunch for the first time, excited to try Del Taco. After placing my order, I pulled forward—only to find a team of workers actively pouring wet concrete in the drive-thru lane. I waited for a few minutes, assuming there was some kind of plan in place, but as they finished up, they just looked at me and said, “Come on, man!”—as if I was supposed to just drive through the freshly poured concrete.

At that point, I just left. Never got my food, never got to try Del Taco. I’m just baffled as to why a restaurant would open while it’s still under construction, let alone actively blocking customers from getting their orders. Maybe I’ll try again in the future, but this was a ridiculous...
