Haven Craft Kitchen + Bar — Restaurant in Orange

Haven always has a wonderful atmosphere along with very Fine Dining & Imbibing! Updated September 2024 GoodTimes & GoodVibes Zone That was in 2005 when opened. So happy Haven survived all the challenges cuz they are now an Orange Circle 🟠 institution for food & beverage. Or just enjoy the epic people watching while sharing sum pate ( creative take on toasted baguette 🥖 is so refined) & wine🍷. Bar area is great for some Mac Red Cask. Well known for Super Delicious and original hamburger 🍔 's but truly has full menu of several options & many specials. But the burger awards 1st put on map. Really like the blue cheese burger with fried 🍳 egg 🥚 on top. As mention very creative fare 🍽️ 👍 Among best Old Towne Orange 🍊 has 2 offer. Cuisine is California Fresh & Healthy combined w/ old world entree's. Chefs use all kinds of methods with contemporary tools and cutlery 🍴. Menu is ever evolving due to excellent Management and Chefs.

Per usual on last visit We were greeted immediately & had wonderful experiences w/ all Staff. ..very competent & eager to exceed expectations. At all levels the Staff is smiling and eager to please. Outside stellar table for people watching and dining! Stoked...Ty:)) The craft beer selection was very impressive and the Bar area Staff was very friendly & extremely educated... almost sommelier level. Try the Macallan Rare Cask at very top shelf....large variety of high-end spirits & Bartenders are very skilled at making creative cocktails and serving just the right drink when it's bartenders choice...never disappoint. The menu was varied and had some unique options. The food was very good and especially enjoy sharing several appetizers to share. Entrees are well prepared & scrumptious. The prices are reasonable for Old Towne Orange 🍊 Plaza ⏺️ Square Historical 📃 District @ Orange Circle 🟠. Parking lot in rear. Also street parking 🅿️ in front as well on Glassell Street or Almond Ave. Also 2 City of Orange free parking lots within walking distance. Overall HIGHLY RECOMMEND 'Haven Craft Kitchen' for anyone looking for trendy spot to eat or imbibe in Orange. Elegant Bar area that allows for watchN sports & lots of outdoor seating. Epic food, drink, friends, and people watching all in 1 spot....

Greetings everyone, I'm not a frequent or consistent Yelp user but this message is long overdue. In May of 2021, I took my wife on a weekend getaway for our wedding anniversary and we spent the weekend in Los Angeles, specifically in the Anaheim area. While in Anaheim, we decided to frequent a cozy little Establishment called Haven Craft Kitchen & Bar that was recommended by my sister n law. We ordered our meals and my wife had a little side order of some of their house cornbread that was made and served in a little mini cast iron skillet. I didn't think anything of it until my wife gave me a nibble. One taste of that cornbread and my tastebuds thought I was tasting something from my ancestors. I had to look around to see where I was. Now as a black man born in Chicago and raised in Richmond California, I had assumed that I've already tasted the best cornbread ever. Well, that is, until I visited this hidden jewel of a place. 6 months later my wife was visiting her sister who lives in the Anaheim area. So I placed a special order of 15 orders for her to bring back. Within another 3 months my wife's sister came to visit us in Fresno California where I live, and I had her stop at Haven Craft and grab me 20 more orders. Yeah, call me crazy but I had to have my stash. Lol. Since then, I've gotten down to about five pieces left in my special 19 foot freezer that I purchased in 2019 when I knew Covid was going to put humanity on its back. My wife just went to visit her sister again a month ago and yes, I had her bring me back 15 more orders of that epic cornbread. If my mom ever found out that I love this cornbread more than hers she'd probably remove me from her will. Lol. I'm not sure who the owner of haven Craft hired in his kitchen as the cook, but that person deserves a fat raise. I'm sure I'll get around to tasting something else on their menu. But for now, this amazing restaurant will keep me driving 4 hours and 15 minutes, and 518 miles round trip just to get my cornbread fix. I am officially team Haven Craft until the wheels fall off. After years of me defending this place as a 5, they finally decided to change the burger to make it below average. I am pretty sure they get their buns from OC Baking Company (we know Dean and he is amazing) and even those tasted stale. As someone who freezes their bread on a regular basis and ours still tastes great,, this is just sad that they couldn't even serve fresh buns!

First it was taking away the amazing duck fat fries. Then it was raw burgers and crying kids during covid when we did take away. (I had to re-cook them.) At the time, we tipped over 20 per cent and didn't say too much as we were trying to support them.

Then it was a salad that was only lettuce (so odd) at the tail end of Covid so we gave it a pass.

And now finally, they have made an ordinary burger, which is just about as bad as the worst burger place. The server is fine, and somewhat apologetic but no one seems to care too much.

I always loved their homemade drinks and their unique flair. I always defended their exorbitant prices. I was the "duchess" of this place after all! Even when they refused to serve a kids burger saying they had run out but instead charged us more for them to share the "adult" burger, we gave them a pass.

After so many years here, so many visits, always tipping well, not one apology or anything.

And now, we notice when other places are hopping on a weekday lunch this place is empty!! We were so loyal. (Look at my Yelp check ins.) Something must have happened here, because while they said they "decided to focus on dinner," I happened to ask the staff at Finney's (our replacement) and they told me that a bunch of their staff had visited recently and no one cared!

So for now, we will say good bye to Haven, at least to what was once our favorite burger and fries, and our most highly recommended...
