My #1 favorite is the California Chile Burrito with added shredded beef. The burrito has a chile relleno (Anaheim chile in grilled egg batter stuffed with cheese), refried beans, Spanish rice, and cheddar cheese. I have loved chile rellenos since I was in Pre-School and Kindergarten. My dad would pick me from Montessori and we would stop at the 7-11 down the street. While I played Galaxian, my dad would purchase and warm up chile relleno burritos for us for lunch. I know I am dating myself, but this was a routine for me and my dad. Miguel’s Jr.’s version brings back all of these childhood memories and tastes far better than those microwaved burritos. It is full of flavor from the green chile, gooey cheese, hearty refried beans, eggy batter, and tender shredded beef. The hubby always asks what I want and 90% of the time, it’s the California Chile Burrito! Rating: 5/5
My #2 favorite is Miguel’s Jr. Nachos. It come with your choice of shredded chicken or beef atop tortilla chips with refried beans, Española sauce, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, guacamole, and sour cream. I love nachos in general and I love the nachos at Miguel’s Jr.’s even more because of that shredded beef. It just has a hearty, beefy flavor and just works well with very gooey cheese and refried beans. In addition, the guacamole and sour cream contribute a nice creamy flavor. You can share it as an appetizer or just have it as your...
Read moreAlmost every time you order a chili relleno the chili will be hard and crunchy. The chili is nearly always undercooked. Was in this store yesterday and that was the case. At a Miguel’s closer to where I live I had this problem and the female manager could not figure out what to do. Last week I ordered the chili relleno and told the guy behind the register about it and he said he’ll just tell the cook to leave it in the steamer longer. It came out perfect. Nice and soft and tender. The next time in I explained this to a different guy and he did the same thing. He told the cook to leave it longer in the steamer and again it came out great. A week later I’m at this store and I tell the female manager what to do and she just seems confused. I see her talk to a female cook and when I get me chili relleno it was hard and crunchy. Is there some problem with the females not getting this?! All four of the males did it did it right, none of the three females could get it done properly. Leave it in the steamer longer! How...
Read morethe dining area looks beautiful. i ordered the Miguel Jrs Original Burrito with Shredded Chicken. i love the texture of the flour tortilla. but the chicken was salty. the green and red salsa are so watery that it quickly drips off the burrito. also the two salsas are not flavorful. i was looking for a memorable taste and a little more salsa variety. when i left the counter i realized they offer hass guacamole or avocado which i wanted but i didnt want to bother.
right now as i sit inside this hot afternoon this place is nice and cool and latin music playing. i mean the staff is nice. i like the interior decor actually.
as for the drinks get ready to drink...soda. or water and nonflavored ice tea.
i find myself washing this concocted ice tea of mine to rid of the salty after taste the shredded chicken left on my palate.
if the chicken had much less seasoning or salt the burrito would be good. i love the shredded chicken texture. the tasteless and watery salsa didnt...
