The pizza was pretty good, but the customer service was terrible. My wife and I ordered our pizza online, and their ordering was a bit confusing. After we selected that we wanted a vegan pizza, which was described as, "vegan cheese, red sauce, and basil" an option we were presented with was "Normal, or Veggie". I wasn't sure what that was supposed to mean, so I selected veggie. We ended up being charged $6 for them to make half of our pizza a "veggie" pizza. Which apparently means red onions and green olives? I spoke to the bald guy working at the counter, and I tried to let him know that it may have been my mistake and that I might have just misunderstood the ordering screen, but he was immediately defensive. Showing me my order ticket and saying, "See, it says veggie right here. That is what you ordered." As if that excuses both your attitude and your weird decision that onions and olives is a "veggie" pizza, and again that it cost 6 dollars make it a veggie and that you only did it to half the pizza. I don't expect that you bend over backward for me, but I was just trying to understand why the pizza came out the way it did. It's so close to our house, we were hoping to have a new pizza spot. We drive up from Salem at least once a month just for Ranch. When they open a new location, we seek it out. Genuinely the best pizza I’ve had in all my travels. I’m a big fan of Detroit style, but it’s tough to find a GREAT version of it outside of Michigan.
Well, Ranch is as good as any I’ve had there, and their house made ranch dressing puts it over the top. It’s creamy and full of dill, and pairs perfectly with a triangle of pepperoni.
If you’re hitting up Ranch for the first time, please please please try the veggie. It is incredible. They use Kalamata olives, Calabrian chiles, a little red onion, and the perfect amount of sauce and cheese to create an outstanding slice - no meat required. It’s even inspired me to try to recreate it at home but I’m not quite there…yet.
Stop reading, start driving to your nearest Ranch, and ask them to open one in Salem,...
Read moreFirst time in Oregon City was one of the best pizzas of my life! Got the #4 every time I've been to a Ranch pizza, it is such a great combination of flavors. We went back a second time that same week after the first time, and then again a week later. The crust is amazingly good, chewy, and everything is so well put together, it is just a flavor bomb. Their Ranch dressing is also really tasty and a bit of a surprise to me how good it is on pizza. I do love Sicilian style pizza even in NYC I always get some (but I think Ranch is better than any I've had in NYC), but my husband who swears by NYC * thin crust * is also impressed and hooked on this Ranch #4 Pizza too (it says a lot to have...
