This restaurant has clearly changed ownership, as the previous reviews were for Toki sushi and teriyaki but the signs in the restaurant say Toki Restaurant. We were initially greeted by someone friendly who told us to sit anywhere in the empty restaurant. We Sat at a booth, with unexpectedly deflated seats. We were brought water and menus. Okay, fair experience so far. Our server, Eileen, approached the table and asked how we'd like to pay. Not hello, how are you, welcome. She didn't apologize or laugh it off as a funny slip up, but just said, "oh, um what do you want to order?" Having just Sat down, we asked for a few minutes after ordering an appetizer. When she returned, again, she asked, "are you ready to order?" This all felt oddly rude and abrupt. But, were trying to roll with it as we hadn't been out to eat on a date in a bit. Our appetizer arrived and we had to ask for chopsticks. There was no way to eat them but with our hands. The chopsticks were so cheap, mine broke within minutes. I've been using chopsticks for 25+ years and this has never happened to me. Again, I had to get up and find my own because our server was MIA. While the rude service was one thing, the restaurant also left their front door propped open. Presumably to skip paying for air conditioning. But there were so many flies I had to keep brushing them away. When our food did arrive I could barely eat the bland chicken yakisoba, and the ultra oily spider hand roll I ordered. The other sushi rolls were average at best. I lost my appetite with all the flies. This was really disappointing as I was looking forward to sushi. Ultimately the restaurant took the hand roll off the bill, which was nice. Our server didn't apologize for anything until she realized she wasn't getting a tip. To really top off the evening, I got home to find the jeans I'd put on right before we went to the restaurant had a stain where I had Sat in something at the restaurant booth. The overall experience here was so bad I would never recommend this...
Read moreCame here looking for a new sushi place closer to home. One of the greatest joys of going to a sushi restaurant is seeing the variety of exotic and tasty delicacies flowing past on the belt line. This place was a sore disappointment. The belt was predominantly empty (at 6:30 p.m. On a Friday), and consisted only of desserts, and six actual sushi varieties. Several plates are on so long they had become rubbery and settled, not at all fresh. When I asked to speak to a manager to inquire about the lack of selection, this request was denied, staying he was too busy helping other customers, I was then directed to make a custom order (much more expensive) if I didn't like the belt selection. The waitress seemed quite irritated that I had asked if I could query the manager. At the time of this writing it has been thirty minutes since this exchange and we have now been all but ignored. The belt is growing more empty as customers trickle in with no restock in sight. There are currently only twelve customers at the belt and maybe a half dozen in the booths. Not exactly busy, but they can't keep up.
One star. I do not recommend.
Edit: barely a minute after posting this they finally added a single lonely orange chicken plate to the belt. First new plate in an hour! Got bored and marked a plate. Then waited and counted. There are eleven total dishes...
Read moreWorst service I have ever had. New owners have no business running a sushi train. There's absolutely no sushi on the track, just Costco snacks. Took me 5 minutes to get the waitresses attention I waited about 20 for food and ended up walking out.
Wont let me do a 2nd review, but went back in. Your cook/sushi preparer was too busy talking to fill an order. There was zero sense of urgency to make the food order I placed. Your poor waitress.. I sat quietly waiting in an already empty resteraunt for my order.. 3 minutes went by and the cook was still more worried about his conversation than doing what he is there to do. So I left. I probably would have stayed and spent some of my money but there was absolutely nothing on the track to grab. I'm not in the resteraunt business, but if you want my advice get your staff in line. Have them have some sort of of urgency for the people making their check possible. You would probably also increase traffic if you actually had a dang thing rotating around that fancy track of yours. I will probably never come back. It's really a shame what has become...
