We haven't stopped by this business in about a year or two and usually go through the drive thru. We decided for our 6th anniversary to go again. This time around I ordered a corn dog and tried their "new" chicken nugget option and my partner got a Bacon cheeseburger basket minus the tomato.
Older lady employee I assume from her voice over the speaker, she did not seem too happy with the tone she had. I asked for the nuggets and what dipping sauces were available she told me was BBQ, Ranch, honey mustard and fry sauce, a little lacking in variety in my opinion, but I chose to go with fry sauce which is always delicious and a corn dog. As I ordered my partners Burger basket, I mentioned no tomato and she asked if I wanted regular fries or twisted, I said regular, and then she followed with repeating my order back to me. She didn't say basket when mentioning the burger part, but I said "basket" to make sure that is what I ordered which is fine, it was over a speaker i totally get it.
Did not have to wait too long as there was a truck at the window when I ordered and when it was my turn at the window it was ready shortly after. A young lady finished up with my payment and asked what sauces I wanted and double confirmed their options for sauces, paid with a card.
When arriving home my partner looked through the bag and asked if I had gotten fries and I said "No", he let me know that they forgot the fries and we had tater tots which we didn't order nor were we told we were getting those over fries. I offered to drive back but he said he would deal with the tots. The nuggets were crispy but kind of flat and kind of tasted like mcdonalds nuggets. I only ordered a 5 piece to try them as they were listed as "new" on their website menu but received 6 or 7, cool.
The corn dog however was the worst part. The looks were deceiving, looked crunchy, but inside was mushy and seemed under-cooked (which may be why they have the * on some of their food items on their online menu) salty as all can be as well, like they dumped half a salt shaker into their mix or in the dog itself I don't know. I can make crunchier corn dogs from frozen in a toaster oven in 25 minutes. The stick they use is also quite long so be careful taking that first bite, I learned the hard way 😅.
Also my partner had to finish cooking his tots in the toaster oven because they were soggy as well. This is not the first time the food has been this way and is why we choose to rarely go here. We thought maybe things would be...
Read moreDriving back home to Portland, and saw this place and thought it looked like it would be good. Went through the drive-thru and it was our turn at the speaker. Sat there for 5 minutes only to realize the car in front of us was ordering at the window. So we pulled forward to do the same. As soon as the car behind us pulled to the speaker they immediately were asked to place their order. We were so confused, but we're able to place our order at the window : 2 bacon cheeseburgers, 2 drinks, an order of cheese curds and a twisty fry. We got our bag of food, went and parked to eat, and as I'm pulling the order out there's chicken strips and corn dogs. My husband goes in to tell them we have someone else's order and apparently the car in front of us told them she was going to wait in the parking lot and it wasn't communicated to the 2 girls working the window. My husband comes out with a new bag of food and they still got it wrong! They gave us regular fries instead of the more expensive garlic twisty fries. So he goes back in and they give him twisty fries. Still wrong though because they were just plain, no flavor, twisty fries. At that point our quick pit stop for food turned into an HOUR. We just ate what we had so we could get back on the road. Burgers were mediocre at best, fries and cheese curds were under cooked and we couldn't even finish anything. So there's $30 down the drain... I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. And they need to get a system down for the drive-thru, either have people order at the speaker only or the window only. And it might be best to work on some communication...
Read moreIf you like grease, this is the place. The hand-dipped corn dogs were no more than cheap tasting dogs with a thin coating of batter. The batter is the same as that of pancake batter. They are not crunchy but they are very greasy. The oil runs down the corn dog and makes a puddle at the end. When the bottom of the dog's batter is completely engulfed in the grease, it's slops off the dog into the basket. It really is gross. The fries were under cooked and quite greasy as well. Fries aren't suppose to sag. Those particular fries when fully cooked and at the correct temperature, are crispy. I believe not only was the fries under cooked but both them and the corn dogs were cooked at too low of temperature. The chili would have been great if it was hotter than a degree above room temp. I'm shocked at all the good reviews. We'll never go back. It's truly one of the grossest places I've ever eaten. Nasty! lol, really, it is. lol Spent $27 for baskets of grease with sagging fries and dough. lol. Seriously, gross! One consolation, the staff is...
