Had my sons 16th birthday here because he liked the menu. Had a party of 19. All of the food was amazing. No complaints it was delish! The Brussel sprouts were so good. If you're on the fence just order them you'll love them. We got a couple orders of bang bang shrimp and they were good too!
I reserved the tables for our group about a month in advance. When we got there they wouldn't seat us until 10 people were there. So the tables weren't ready when we got there. Keep that in mind if you have a larger party. I'm not sure if that's normal for delaneys but that was what happened when we got there. They prepared the tables with utensils napkins, cold decorative glass pitchers/bottles of still water, and glasses for everybody. We also brought a cake with us and they took the cake and put it in the fridge until we were ready to serve it.😍 When we were ready to sing happy birthday and serve the cake, our server brought the cake out so we could put the candles on it. And also brought us small plates with spoons and a nice cake cutter.😁 Our server was so sweet and accommodating. We ordered some crab beignets when we ordered the other appetizers of bang bang shrimp and Brussel sprouts but they never came out. I asked the server and they got them right out. It was after I already got my entree but I didn't mind. Everybody got somethin different. 2 people got the ravioli and one didn't like it but they are a picky eater lol The Flatbread cheese and pepperoni were good. The lobster bisque was delish..the sandwich that came with it looked like the person who made it was angry but it was amazing so I didn't care lmao The shrimp and grits were okay The rib sandwich was good. The stuffed tomahawk pork chop was a favorite and after watching it come to the table everybody wished they ordered it as well lol The alcoholic drinks were good. We had to wait a long time for them though. And even before we were seated, the bartender stayed at one end of the bar most of the time and never took some of our orders. Overall it was a nice experience. I feel like for the price and type of restaurant it is...it should have been flawless but stuff happens and nothing is ever 100% perfect. I've had better experiences at other restaurants that were lower priced and "lower class" but my son had a nice time and that's all that matters to me. Will definitely be coming for a date night in the future as it's been on my list of date night places for a long time 😅 It would be nice to experience it with just me and my significant other. The food was excellent. The server was super sweet and we had a nice time. Definable worth a visit. They also had a menu for brunch and it had complimentary mimosas and such. And the menu looked really really good. I'll probably come for brunch very soon. Also You can park in the parking garage but it's the street BEFORE the restaurant. If you miss the street you will have to go up orange Ave and turn around. Figured that would be helpful to some because we missed the turn😅 Parking was free for us. But I think they validate it for other times... don't quote me on that though lol Would recommend....
Read moreAfter combing through and analyzing each of the 2021 Bite 30 menus, Delaney's Tavern ended up having one of the absolute best, in my humble opinion. So I grabbed a couple of friends, made reservations, and dug in. The space was beautiful. Many different dining rooms, all looked very different from one another. I got a room with a view of the beautiful ORMC.
First course: Honey Chili Pepper Brussels Sprouts (parmesan cheese, balsamic roasted shallots, pecan smoked maple bacon). This was a magnificent dish. Sprouts are great on their own, but adding the other elements of the acidic, balsamicy shallots and the sweet, salty, meaty bacon was genius. Definitely a sprouts dish in my 95th percentile of deliciousness.
Prosciutto, Fig & Goat Cheese Flatbread (aged balsamic, arugula). Don't get me wrong, this was also delicious. Maybe a little small for a flatbread, but that's kind of just what happens with Bite 30. Solid flavors. I'm a mega fan of goat cheese.
Second Course: Almond Crusted Salmon (orange honey glaze, coconut bamboo rice, grilled asparagus, spicy plum sauce). Another banger. Salmon cooked Perfectly and made so good and sweet with that glaze. It balanced well with that spicy plum and getting both sauces in bite with the fish and that rice, you'll feel like you're in Hawaii or something.
Tequila Lime Skirt Steak (cilantro butter, fingerling and poblano hash, Peruvian tomato and onion salad). Oooh, fascinating dish. Skirt steak was cooked nicely, which is tough for restaurants to get right a lot of the time. Cilantro sucks, of course, but a hash of potatoes and deep poblanos does not. Tomatoes and onions really made this thing a great medley of meat and potatoes and very complimentary veggies. Solid.
Third Course: Pineapple Bread Pudding with Quatro Leches Ice Cream. I'm always wary when a bread pudding is served to me not in a bowl. I don't liked a dry pudding, but alas, they did a good job. It was just moist enough to also absorb tasty goo from this decadent ice cream. I loved it.
Seasonal Creme Brulee (our pastry chef's creme brulee topped with seasonal fruit). No fruit here, it was just chocolate shavings, but it was honestly the best creme brulee I've had in a long time. So deep and rich and not too sweet. And most importantly, the surface didn't have the texture of stained glass. It was just crispy enough.
Overall, an easy five stars. Probably the seconds best Bite 30 menu of the year (stay tuned for more on that). And as we speak, I'm checking on the Magical Dining Month menus and man, Delaney is NOT playing around. Go check it out. And check...
Read moreI have anticipated going to Delaney's for some time now because the menu looks amazing. I walked in and briefly waited at the hostess station while she was seating another guest and taking a phone call. She was pleasant and proceeding to walk be back to our reserved table, which was dirty. No big deal-- I used the restroom while she quickly cleaned it off and reset. When I sat she asked if I would care for a drink, which was nice that she would relay that to the bar prior to my server getting to me. My server was also a pleasant young lady. We ordered from the Bite30 menu which is a 3 course special for $33. I debated on getting the Brie Pastry and the server mentioned that the app and desert would be smaller on this menu so ordering another app to share would not be too much food. The brie was nice-- the sauce and cherries were delicious. Didn't blow my mind but it was an okay bite. I had the mussels and my mother had the Moroccan chicken. The spices on that were delicious and probably the best bite of food we had all night. The sauce that the mussels were in was again, just okay--- I typically am one to soak up or drink all the sauce when it comes to mussels. This was not the case. Mom had the Shortrib steak and I ordered the Raviolis in black garlic sauce with mushrooms. The short rib had a great crust and nice tender meat. The sauce on the ravioli was tasty but there was a ton of oil on the plate that made it less appealing. A few drops would have sufficed. The mushrooms were the best part. We took dessert to go, the oreo bread pudding and peach crumble. My bread pudding was warm, soft, and delivered on flavor. I didnt get to try my moms crumble but she said it was delicious. Overall a good experience and I will try again for other menu options. I should mention we had cocktails as well, Titos Cosmos, Mojitos, and Riesling with the meal. I expected to be blown away by the food and I must say it didn't quite knock my socks off, but I would still give it another go. The atmosphere is trendy but the restaurant was a little warm for my comfort, especially when having cocktails! I will update on my next visit with whatever new dishes I try. I think if you are willing to drop $150 for two people on a meal in a downtown location is totally...
