New China — Restaurant in Orlando

I've seen this place be busy during the day time hours and now I know why. Their lunch special prices (most were $8) are the only attractive thing about this place. Their dinner combo prices are inexpensive too (most were $11), but the food reflects those low prices. We went at dinner time and that might have something to do with it. Maybe the lunch time is better, fresher. But honestly, the best thing about this place was the young lady at the counter. She was very nice, efficient and helpful. The food is not good and the place is dingy and dirty. We had the cashew chicken, sweet/sour chicken and pork lo mein. The Lo Mein noodles were good. Not overly cooked but could have used more sauce. The pork was sliced thin (not uncommon) but it was overcooked. The rice was not authentic at all....overcooked, dry and had no flavor. The cashew chicken sauce was decent but the meat itself was not seasoned at all so that made the dish as a whole pretty bland. The chicken of the sweet/sour was way overcooked.... although the batter was fried nice and crispy. The egg rolls were crispy on the outside but lacked substance in the contents.....mostly wrapper with some meat and very finely chopped veggies. So if you are looking for quantity over quality, this is your place....and maybe go earlier in the day to have a better experience than we did...and get it for take out, not dine in. Oh, I will say that it was nice that you could get a drink included with the dinner combo instead of an egg roll. Wish I had known that because I would have skipped the basic tasting egg roll and not paid extra...

Ordered Chicken snowpea and hot and sour soup. Everything tasted bland but whatever. Worst part comes when I found a dead roach in my food buried under my white rice. I am Asian and of all the years of eating Chinese food from Chinese takeout, I can say I've NEVER had a dead roach in my food until now from my lunch takeout from NEW China. Disgrace and nasty. My coworkers all saw me picking out the cockroach. smh. I called to talk to the lady that works there and she was nice about it and offered to give me another meal for free but..seriously, WHY THE HELL would I go back there again. lol. IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS I WOULD! I ordered honey chicken wings w/house rice, bbq spare ribs, and fried shrimp. The jumbo fried shrimps looked like burnt fish, hard as a rock. When I opened the plate of ribs it smelled really bad,the meat look dead. Not fresh at all probably left out for days. The honey chicken wings look dead as well! Black spots on the chicken , when I bit into the chicken it taste old, stale, just awful. The house rice look like yellow rice w/old shrimp. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT...
