I have lived in Orlando for the past 20 years and have passed by Guang Ming Temple countless times, but it wasn't until today that I finally decided to step inside. And what a delightful experience it was!
Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by Cristian, who graciously offered to guide me through the temple and share its rich history with me. We enjoyed a cup of fragrant jasmine tea together and engaged in a fascinating conversation in the serene surroundings of the temple.
The temple itself is a beautiful architectural marvel, and the peaceful atmosphere made me feel incredibly welcome. The friendly and open demeanor of the people I encountered only added to the positive experience.
Inside, there is a library where visitors can find books, incense, and other items. It was a truly enriching experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have spent time in such a wonderful place.
I highly recommend a visit to Guang Ming Temple to anyone looking for a peaceful and enlightening experience. Thank you to Cristian and the rest of the staff for their...
Read moreI have been a student of Buddhism for a long time. However being an American I was always super nervous about visiting temples and attending chanting services. This place eliminated any fear that I have of doing so. The community here is lovely and they are all very warm and welcoming. All the venerable nuns are kind, compassionate and full of wisdom. The volunteers are just lovely and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and accepted. This is a place I will truly miss being away from Orlando now. However I will keep the traditions of Mahayana Buddhism anywhere I go. I recommend anyone remotely interested in the teachings of Buddhism to please visit this and tell them I sent...
Read moreA MI TUO FO! (Amitabha) ! This is the place to go to find your inner peace, nuns, monks and volunteers are very friendly there, there are 3 stories in the building, you can either walk in as one person or a group to ask for a tour. You may also book a tour before you come. There are sutra reading and discussion groups on Sunday, they also offer various classes for adults and kids (classes like learning Chinese, reading and writing, buddhism learning..etc), they provide free vegetarian lunch which is so tasty and a great variety, for the most part you won't even realize it's vegetarian food. A great and friendly place to volunteer as well. I'd recommend this...
