Mother’s Day Visit – Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience
We dined in today to celebrate Mother’s Day, and unfortunately, from the moment we were seated, the experience was disappointing. It took about 15 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. When she finally arrived, she seemed rushed and impatient, asking us to repeat our orders and add-ons multiple times.
We ordered drinks and appetizers, but when the drinks were brought out, the server accidentally spilled Sprite all over the table soaking our food and even ruining my best friend’s brand-new outfit. We were moved to a different table, where a manager finally approached us. However, rather than listening to our concerns, she immediately defended the server’s behavior instead of taking accountability for the situation. It felt dismissive and unprofessional.
When we were asked what we “wanted,” it felt as if they assumed we were simply after a freebie, which was insulting. The manager offered my friend an alcoholic beverage, which she accepted but did not end up drinking.
We waited over an hour for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was ice cold. I ordered the shrimp and steak pasta, which came without any sauce. I also requested my steak medium well, but it was completely overcooked and dry. After everything that had already happened, we didn’t even want to eat. There was no follow-up from any staff, and the original server who spilled the drink continued to assist us despite the earlier incident.
The floors were filthy, and while the staff claimed they were busy, it honestly wasn’t that crowded. As a restaurant manager myself and with my best friend also working in restaurant management we found the service, cleanliness, and leadership severely lacking. Although they gave us a 10% discount, it felt more like a way to get us out the door rather than a genuine attempt to make things right.
This was my first visit and it will absolutely be my last. I would never recommend this restaurant, especially on a holiday or busy weekend. The experience was incredibly disappointing and neglectful from...
Read moreI recently visited this Outback Steakhouse and unfortunately had a disappointing experience that left me rethinking it as a dining option in the future. I have a dairy allergy and was surprised to find that the only allergen-specific menu available in the restaurant was for gluten—nothing to guide those with other dietary restrictions.
Before being seated, I spoke with the manager, who let me know that most items contain butter and would need to be modified. I appreciated her honesty and transparency. Once we were at the table, I asked the server to confirm whether the Bloomin’ Onion was dairy-free, as the allergen menu I found online suggested it might be. He stepped away to ask, but instead of returning, the manager came back and asked what we’d like to order. At that point, my friends and I could sense that my questions were starting to feel like an inconvenience to the staff.
When the food arrived, I ordered the Bloomin’ Chicken without sauce to avoid dairy. Unfortunately, it was so dry and overcooked that it was borderline inedible. I ended up getting a sauce to go and brought the leftovers home to my husband, who also agreed it was far from the quality we’re used to from Outback.
I’m not sure if the issue was because we arrived about 90 minutes before closing (which really shouldn’t have been an issue) or because of my dietary restrictions, but either way, $30 is too much to spend on a meal that left me still hungry and feeling like a burden. I don’t want to fault the staff personally, but it’s clear that more support and resources are needed for guests with...
Read moreI visited Outback this evening for a solo dinner. While I was seated immediately, it took quite a while for a server to approach my table—even though the restaurant was not busy at the time. Once he arrived, he seemed attentive and took my drink and food order promptly. Bread came out quickly, which I appreciated.
However, the rest of the evening was a long waiting game. My salad didn’t arrive until 43 minutes into my visit. After that, I was told my entrée would be out shortly, but it took much longer. In total, it was 55 minutes before my main dish arrived. The server mentioned being overwhelmed by a large church group, though from my seat I never saw a table larger than six people.
When the food finally came, not all of my items were correct. I didn’t bother mentioning it because at that point I just wanted to eat and leave. The server did say he would offer a free dessert due to the long wait, but he never returned to follow through on that.
Another server actually approached me, thinking I hadn’t been helped at all. I explained I was just trying to complete the survey on the kiosk, which was also not working. The manager eventually came by, which I appreciated, and kindly offered a gift card. That gesture was generous, but not something I was expecting or needed—I just wanted someone to acknowledge the delay and show a bit of empathy.
Overall, this visit was disappointing. I didn’t go in expecting anything fancy, just a decent meal and basic attentiveness. I hope this feedback helps improve the service for...
