Shays Kitchen — Restaurant in Orlando

I ordered here through Door Dash it wasn't bad I got 2 platters the 4pc fried chicken with yams ,Mac and cheese and collard greens. So I rate the food 4stars because I know this isn't yall fault but I wish they could make a special container where the chicken won't get soggy it wasnt horrible it still had a little crunch but very minimal the seasoning on the chicken was perfection like wow amazing 👌🏾 the collards were perfect not too salty just right. The yams at 1st bite had a weird taste like I could taste the condensation Milk which I didn't like but it still wasn't bad after I got use to it. The Mac and cheese wasn't bad again it had a weird flavor at 1st biting into it like a smokey bacon flavor type of taste but I got use to it im just not use to my Mac and cheese tasting like that. Would I order here again Maybe it was worth the try thats for sure and yall get a pass for being soul food I got sleepy after eating...

I was expecting a restaurant with the reviews talking about the ambiance; but this was more of a take out food hall. I ordered online and the service was great. My meal was piping hot and ready to go in about 20min. I got the chicken platter with two sides. That chicken was so good. Crunchy but super juicy. Homemade bbq on the side: Wowsers! I’m a Mac and cheese snob so would’ve liked it to be more creamy and cheesy; it was baked and a little too crunchy/dry for me; but the mashed yams were good. My son got the honey hot wings and they were perfection on a bone. Sauce was flame!! I topped it of with that mystery lemonade and that was awesome too. I’m trying to keep the big backtivity to a minimum but my goodness - this is the spot if you want some fire🔥🔥soul food. I’ll be back before I leave the O. Gotta try them ribs out. ...

Food is overpriced and it taste like it’s microwaved. The fish was rubbery. The Mac and cheese was literally garlic noodles with shredded cheese on top. The greens was ok but again, it tasted microwave. I paid 70 dollars for the fish dinner with collard greens and mac , I also bought another fish soul food plate with double fries. Fries was unseasoned and looked like they through frozen fries in the microwave. They wasn’t even fried hard. I give this place a 0/10. The reviews have to be written by the staff because the food here is so nasty. The service here is really trash I stool there for 5 minutes until someone acknowledged me to take my order. Kitchen looks dirty and the cooks look confused. I came from Jacksonville to try this place. Complete...
