What can I say? The old lady and I were not disappointed. (She’s not actually an old lady, I just like to mess with her). Don’t go here if you’re expecting there to be sun. It should be called great drinks and chill vibes-room. But I can see why they didn’t go with that name. Sunroom was recommended to me by two buddies, their names are unimportant to this story as they chose to not come by.. We came on a Wednesday night and it was super quiet in there. We sat at the bar and were helped right away. Love that we were served water without having to ask for it (it’s the little things). It was spotless in here, styled beautifully. Definitely a great place to bring a date for sure. The playlist was on point. On to the drinks, why you’re actually still reading this far.. I started with the Jalisco Inferno and she started with an Appletini. Both were crafted carefully and tasted amazing. 10/10 x2. We then tried Saturn, & Blue Haitian again, the attention to detail and flavors on these drinks were wonderful. She wasn’t a big fan of the Blue Haitian (if you like fresh ginger go for it, this drink was actually nuts) we swapped but I loved Saturn as well. 10/10 x2 again. It’s clear the bartenders care about what they do & it reflects heavily in the drinks they craft. We left to Hawkers for some food but we popped back in for another Appletini & I went for the Cafe Bandito this time. Let me just say if I had a drinking problem (I might), I’d want one of these for breakfast everyday (I won’t) It was phenomenal. 100% will be returning to try more of the menu out.
There were a lot of rocks in the parking lot. If we all show up with a sling shot one day we could probably clear them out pretty easy....
Read moreIf you're into bar hopping, make sure to add Sunroom to your Mills bar crawl. I would define it as the chill little tiki sister to the more famous Guesthouse. With reasonable prices and a laid-back vibe, it's perfect for a date night or catching up with friends who'd rather chat than hit the dance floor but don't mind a lively atmosphere on weekends.
Cocktail wait times can drag if it's busy, as they seem a bit understaffed. This last time I went, I ordered a glass of red wine (they only had "house", unclear what the brand was) and it was... undrinkable. One of the worse red wines I've ever tasted, unfortunately. I asked the bartender if she would be willing to trade it for white and she didn't even hesitate to do so. So nice of her.
Also, they're super strict about checking IDs at the door, so even if you're well over 21, don't forget to...
Read moreMy friend and I had a mixed experience but it left me with bad feelings in the end. Upon entering everything was easy, found a seat and got served right away. First round of drinks one was delicious and one was okay but not phenomenal. My buddy got another round in but I drank slower (which led to my disappointment later). No water refills, no one coming to help us for a long time. People slowly crowding in more and more and no bartenders coming to our half of the bar to serve anyone. A couple next to me easily waited over 20 minutes to order their first round. We waited over 45 to even try to just cash out and leave. There were at least 4-5 bartenders and the barback only cleared empty cups and said sorry someone else can help you. Wanted to be able to enjoy more but wasn't even given the opportunity to try more....
