Fat Paulies Wicked Awesome Eatery — Restaurant in Ormond Beach

Yesss! Finally a place that lives up to its name. I am from Brooklyn and don’t say wicked awesome…but this place is Freakin’ Awesome!! On several occasions I’ve gone in to get the Cheesy Gravy fries for a snack and ended up getting a couple of sangwyches and meatballs. Roast Beef is top notch and cooked daily. Really good chicken cutlet which is great as a parm or piccata sangwych. Meatballs and sauce are great. Most places overwork their sauce but Paulie keeps it simple and perfectly delicious. I’ve also had the Pesto Chicken panini which was delicious. Paulie has a gift for getting sangwych proportions spot on. From the bread to the sauce to the cheese and greens to the meat…simply perfect. Oh, and the Cod sandwich IS wicked awesome (there I said it). On top of all that Meghan and Paulie are a delight. OK…yeah, a sandwich should NEVER come close to a $15 price point. BUT, if it should, then you must make that moolah count. Right? Well, I believe that it does at FP’s. My taste buds were dancing in a slow circle around my head, singing the praises of my Gouda Chicken Sandwich and hand -cut Fries, enough to share though Daughter lost out in ordering her very own. Quality Chicken cutlet quickly smothered with garlic mayo and smoked Gouda with a hefty slice of Bacon. The star for me was the Praise-be Panini Roll. Good balance of so much there to satisfy! Came into this very clean and well put together, comfortable restaurant, friendly faces of staff, fast service,, and got the fried chicken and gouda sandwich. It had tomatoes, bacon, a wonderful lightly smoked gouda cheese, and a garlic mayo on it and came on pressed ciabatta bread. It was absolutely delicious and tasted like it came homemade from my Mom's Italian kitchen. Also came with fresh, hand cut, french fries. Also so good. This is a must visit resturant here in Ormond.
