Mama Mia's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Ormond Beach

I have mixed feelings about this place. But, the bad outweighs the good. We used to go here often [7 yrs or so ago] but the owner became rude and abusive one visit and we didn't go back. Recently, I stopped in for their great lunch deal for $5.50. Several lunches to choose from, but I ordered 2 slices and a drink. Pizza was seriously HUGE! And good!!! Waitress was a bit odd, but more on that later. So, last night I suggested this place so we could try their dinner specials for $9.99. We got there on Friday night at 6:30pm. No one greeted us, tables were all dirty. Finally, the waitress, who was sitting [hiding?] In a booth, jumped up and said, "Oh, sit anywhere". So we sat at the one "clean" table. The waitress is nice enough, but on both occasions she seemed "confused". She got our drink order wrong, brought lemons in the drinks after we said no thank you, continued to bring lemons even though she watched us take them out and put them on the table. She didn't know whose meal went where or what it was. Just odd. Ziti meal was enormous and pretty good. Bread was delicious. My eggplant parm? Well, the Ziti was great. The size was again enormous. But, the eggplant was like rubber. I took home 3/4 and will see if doctoring it up can save the leftovers. The worst part of the visit is the cleanliness of this establishment. Everything in the place is sticky and soiled; the floors, the tables, the chairs, the condiment containers, the silverware, the napkin holders (which were all empty)....EVERYTHING! A shame, because we have few decent casual Italian restaurants nearby. The only highlight for me at this meal was the Pasta Fagioli soup. It was homemade and quite good. We will...

Do NOT order delivery service from this place. I ordered my food at 5:25 pm, was told it would be 60-75 minutes before I got my food. At 6:55pm I called to get an ETA as I have a hungry family and kids. I was told the delivery guy had our order and was out for delivery. I live less than one mile away. At 7:20 I called back as they had yet to arrive. The girl Christy who answered told me she didnt know where the delivery driver was or why it has taken so long and she hasnt bee. Able to get ahold of him, so I asked to speak to a manager. She asked me to hold on and then she hung up on me. I tried calling back a couple more times with her picking up then dropping the line telling me next time I should have called my order in instead of placing it online. Which is fine. My husband gets home and calls from his phone. A man answers and apologies and says it is just the way it is. At 7:50pm the food finally gets here. I get the food in and start taking it out of the bag to realize I am missing my salads and desserts and my food is room temperature cold or colder and the bottom of the garlic cheese bread is burnt yet cold. I called back about the missing food and I was told next time I call in an order I will get 10% off. 10% off on next order??and I was told the reason my food was late was the car drivers car broke down?? I am still missing $30 in food. I wasnt offered a discount for my cold, half missing food. Worst experience in my 7 years Ormond Beach. Update: 10 minutes later the delivery guy shows up with my missing food. Still. What a disappointment for an $80 order. And I had to pay $6.50 for delivery, not including the tip. What a waste of...

Just don't know what the heck happened... First time visit. Called in my order from port orange. The girl said it's 20 minutes for to go orders. We arrived about 25 minutes later. Food was not ready. The cashier was very polite and took my money and said she would bring it out to me. So I sat down in a booth waiting. There were only two other tables in the restaurant at that time in 1/3 walked in while I was waiting. I'm not sure my food had ever been prepared before we arrived. We finally got our food about 10 or 15 minutes later. When we got home which is only three minutes down the road, don't really know if the food was made fresh or if they cook everything in advance and simply microwave as needed. I myself and my former food and beverage worker. So I know how things work in a restaurant. The food was not really good. I ordered a gyro and the meat have been laid on a flat top grill to heat and the edges all around wear dark brown my husband ordered a Philly cheesesteak and the rapper had stuck to all of the cheese. His tasted better than mine after we scraped off all the cheese and put it back on the sandwich. But he was suspicious about his food just sitting there also. It couldn't have gotten that old in a 3 to 5 minute drive home. I also send an email directly to them so not to Post online for all to see. I have not heard back yet with any consideration or apologies. Henst my post here now. Never get a second chance for a first impression. Don't know if I'll try again probably not. I guess I'll go to D B pickles...
