My husband and I went to 31 Supper Club 2 weeks ago for a birthday party which seating was to begin promptly at 7pm. We arrived early and the several tables that were reserved for the party were open. We sat down with remainder of our 30+ party. There was another very large birthday party in the front of the restaurant near the two piece band. Our order was taken around 7:45pm. Around 8:30pm we asked when our food would we ready and we were told by the very overwhelmed server that there were only 3 people in the kitchen and it would be quite a while till our food would be ready. Three people at our table were diabetic ( two were insulin dependent) , so we asked for bread , which was brought about 15 minutes later . One of the couples cancelled their order and left after waiting two hours. The band was so loud that we could not carry on any conversation without shouting into the next persons ear. And we were seated in the very back of the room. Also the female singer proceeded to drink heavily and devolved into a vulgar drunken mess. Our food finally arrived at 9:45 pm. I ordered filet mignon medium rare-the steak came well done and cold . The accompanying mashed potatoes and veggies were ice cold. I also ordered a side of roasted mushrooms which did not arrive. My husband’s steak ( which he ordered rare) and veggies were cold and overcooked as well. We attempted to waive the server down and after a few minutes we got her attention. She said if we sent the food back it may not arrive until midnight!! The food was absolutely terrible and the steak was like shoe leather. We got so upset that we asked for the bill and noticed that we had been charged $135. I informed the server that we were charged for the mushrooms and she said she could give us a “discount “. We did pay this bill and gave the poor server a generous tip. This was our first time to 31 Supper Club and our last !! This place is supposed to be upscale and fabulous, and the exorbitant prices should reflect this HOWEVER this was not the case. I have attempted to contact privately the management without response so that is why I am going public. Poor management and staffing issues will be the death of...
Read moreI don't know what has happened to what was once a great restaurant but, I'm afraid the 31 Supper Club is going downhill.
We called ahead and was told there would be no problem getting a table. So far, so good. When we arrived, the parking lot was packed and cars were waiting for the valet. I wondered if we could actually get a table. When we entered the restaurant, with the exception of a few people at the bar, the place was EMPTY. Two of our party of four ordered the Prime Steak Frites. One had the Salmon and my friend ordered the Arancini as her entree. First, the "prime steak" was barely warm and certainly wasn't prime at all. It was cut into small pieces but so tough, we could hardly chew it. The "Frites" were just frozen french fries and cold. At almost $30.00 I was astounded at the lack of quality and presentation. Compared to a place like, Texas Road House where for half the price, you get a much better steak, two sides and rolls, the price was ridiculous. The salmon wasn't much better and the mashed potatoes served as a side were also barely warm.
The Arancini were these four balls of risotto, breaded and deep fried. We dissected one of them searching for the salmon it was supposed to have but could only find a few specks. I guess the elusive fish escaped upstream.
Our waiter was nice and, when he asked how everything was, we just shrugged and shook our heads. We could have sent everything back but we rarely do that. He didn't say anything but seemed quite embarrassed as if this wasn't the first experience.
I hate to say it, but as a major supplier to restaurants across the country, I can easily recognize one that, unless some drastic changes are made, and I mean fast, the 31 Supper Club is doomed for failure. It's too bad. The location and atmosphere are fine but, they need to get their act together starting back in...
Read moreSo we showed up about 9:20p, Google said they closed at 12. At first glance it was very nice, but It took about 20 mins for someone to acknowledge us but when we were greeted, our waiter was nice. We placed our drink and appetizer orders at around 10:10p because that's literally how long it took for them to take our order. My boyfriend got his scotch immediately but it took another 30 minutes to get my drink, and we we're still waiting to order our meals. By this time I'm annoyed at how much bread they were giving us and wanted to leave but my boyfriend said to give it a chance. We ordered our entrees at about 10:40-45 & didn't get our food until the building was damn near empty at 11:50 and they brought us freaking French Fries because they "ran out" of mashed potatoes. They never even offered us another side, just gave us French Fries. $250 later we had a freezing cold Rib Eye and Filet Mignon that was barely seasoned with French fries and none of these people offered a discount or even touched basis with us. The waiter apologized and paid for dessert after walking by us hundreds of times but I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in my experience here. 2 and a half freaking hours waiting for food that would've been better from Chili's!! Would've been a helluva lot cheaper.. and I could've eaten and been gone within 2.5 hrs. Never going back...
