The worst library ever place is a complete joke.. they make you feel Unwelcome security guard keeps spinning around stopping in front of you and looking at her watch..the staff treat everyone as if you are beneath them .Signs everywhere saying unattended items subject to disposal or police confiscation . ..Am sure this was designed for things left for a long length of time or forgot and not a 5 min restroom run ..Employees here are so bored they sit around yapping away with each other watching for when you get up to go to the Restroom . Then they run up to your table grab all your stuff all of it lap top everything scoop it all up โฆtake it in the back search threw your belongings looking for contraband . Not a good place to come study..one women stepped out side for one minute for a phone call to be Courteous to others in the library then Like little children the staff run up grabbing. All her stuff a new MacBook ..so sad people come to the library to work and study research papers are out on table along with laptop s and tablets ..they Inconvenience you and want you To pack it all up take it with you to the restroom ..then come back unpack...
ย ย ย Read moreThe library has some great programs โ especially for kids. My toddler loves storytime, and we visit weekly with our nanny. The space itself is beautiful, and thereโs clearly a lot of thought put into programming.
That said, the overall atmosphere is not welcoming. The staff is extremely focused on enforcing rules to the point where it feels more like a disciplinary space than a community one. Iโve been corrected for things like sitting cross-legged on a chair, and for the type of cup I used to bring in coffee (quietly, from the farmerโs market next door).
On the children's side, the expectations are just not age-appropriate. The new storytime staff expects toddlers and babies to sit still, be quiet, and avoid normal behavior like sipping water or eating a non-messy snack. Parents are getting scolded, and itโs become more uncomfortable than enjoyable for many families โ some have stopped coming entirely.
The programs are strong โ but the experience is lacking heart. A little more flexibility, warmth, and understanding would...
