The Cow Cafe & Grill — Restaurant in Oroville

My number one complaint is that the food is average however for their policy to charge an extra fee because you use an ATM or a Visa is ridiculous because due to the cost of the food that fee should be covered in the price that they already charge. This is the only place in town that penalizes the customer for charging a fee for using your ATM or credit card

My second complaint is that the portions of food that you receive varies based on the cook. A good example of that is ordering the spaghetti dinner one time you order it and it's a full bowl that is a small bowl to begin with and the second time you order it in the same ball it's half the portion you got last time you ordered it. I gave two stars for service because when the server picks up the food to bring to your table they should recognize that the portions are not equally the same when they pick them up to deliver to you at that point they should be looking at what they're serving and before they bring it to the customer they should bring it to the attention of the cook that it's not a normal portion .

I did not rate the atmosphere as it's nothing special one way...

Broccoli cheddar soup was good, Baked potato decent only reason gave the food a 2 ⭐️ otherwise the rest of my experience was terrible ordered a medium rare closer to rare NY strip seniors dinner and it came out medium/medium well… they remade it for me and I took it to go… waitress made a snide remark about how she enjoys feeding 2 people for the price of one. This was on top of the fact that my bill was brought to the table and placed in front of me when I barely started eating my entree.. didn’t think anything of it until I notice no one else’s bill was brought to them til their meal was done… I should have taken my friends advice and not gone there to eat, but I figured his bad experience was just one off and an anomaly… I will definitely never go back again..btw I left $26 on a $22 bill BEFORE the waitress made her snide comment and I noticed no one else had their bill sitting on the table as they were trying to enjoy their meal

Their food is great but that is not why I am asking this review. I placed an order for a chef salad through door dash, ordered an hour ahead to be delivered at 10:10 in the morning. My card was charged instantly and I began to wait. About 7 minutes before 10 am I got a call from my Dasher Virginia saying that The Cow was not set up for payment through Door Dash and they were unsure why they were on there in the first place. So unfortunately my order had to be cancelled leaving me with minutes to figure out my lunch. Very inconvenient for this to happen. I was beyond frustrated at this point seeing how my card was charged. I called angrily and spoke to one of the statt at the Cow. I let her know they should change their information on the website so this doesn't happen again. The girl was rude given I was as well saying my card had declined. This was not the case. I even contacted door dash and they refunded my money. The service was a bad experience and I won't be ordering ever again...
