Waffle Shop — Restaurant in Oroville

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had here and me and my boyfriend love eating here never had a bad experience that's why this was so surprising. It wasn't that we were waiting over 20 minutes to get our food I understand that the place does get busy and I was told that there was a party being served before us I'm usually the patient one but my boyfriend who just wanted to leave was done waiting and walked out the door. I would have and should have just left the money on the table for the drinks we had but being the person I am I just wanted to let them know that we were leaving so that they didn't bring the food to our table and see that none was there. The lady who took our order was completely rude and disrespectful about it. She had a very bad attitude and made me feel terrible about wanting to leave that I damn near almost started to tear up. She followed me out side and was talking to me in a very aggressive tone to tell me that I was wasting their food and that she didn't want me to come back if i didn't pay for the food. So being the person i am and not wanting confrontation i told her i would go ahead and take it to go. I've never been so embarrassed in my life when she followed me out just to pretty much tell me that i wasn't welcome back if i didn't pay. I should have not payed and just told her that it's fine if she don't want us to come back because we have no interest in coming back. I really hope that lady is not a manager she has horrible customer service and does not need to be speaking to people like that. As a customer I should be comfortable in my decision to leave and not feel threatened by and employee. It really sucks because this is one of my favorite breakfasts spots in oroville, but...

My family decided to come here to have breakfast today and they were obviously busy. The house was full. They sat us down close to the hallway to the bathroom and brought our drinks to us quickly. After receiving our drinks everything was bad since. We waited for over 20min and haven't had our order taken. People that sat dowb after us had their orders taken. I figured they were busy and gave the servers extra time but still no one came by. A lady came to refill other customers drinks and I had to get her attention that no one has taken our order yet and she went to to get our server. Our server came to our table and just stood there saying NOTHING. She stood at our table for a good 10 second totally just looking at us. My wife then say "hello" she answered and nothing else. I then told her that we have waited for over 20 min already and we are ready to order. She did not apologize or introduced herself. My wife told her that everyone that came in and sat down after us had their orders taken except us. She gave us an attitude and said that we were still looking at our menu, we told her that we were ready awhile ago and the kids and us were just playing tic tac toe on the back side of the kids menu. She then say that they were busy. Still no apology or introduction. My wife asked to see if she was ready to take our order and she responded "what do you want?". At that time my wide and I decided that we were not going to order and spend money on food that a server does not want to do her...

I’m currently working night shifts, so I was super excited to try this place out seeing as it opens at 5 AM. I show up at 5 AM after my shift. Excited for a big meal and a milkshake. Lo and behold, when I show up at 5 AM, all the lights are off and no one is even preparing to open shop. If one of your main selling points is opening early, then you should make that a top priority. I will not be trying to come here for breakfast again since I have to take a bit of a detour to get here, but I figured it would be worth it. Bummer because I was planning for this to be my go to breakfast spot after my shifts. They just lost at least several hundred dollars over the next few weeks that I’m working here because they false advertise their opening hours — Either that or they are inconsistent. I’m not sure which one is worse, but the reason doesn’t really matter in the end. Driving out of your way to a restaurant at 5 AM only to see that it’s closed and all the lights are off when it’s supposed to be open is pretty disheartening.

There were probably four other cars in the parking lot waiting for them to open up. Two of them turned around and left when I did.
