We used the app to order a specialized hamburger.
The ticket read -
Sonic Cheeseburger No bun No sliced cheese No lettuce No condiments (default set and confirmed through app) Add shredded cheese Add jalapeño Add bacon Tomato Onion Pickle
What we got the first time was someone reading the ticket, seeing no bun, and building a hamburger in a bowl without the bun.
Only one of the extra cost ingredients made it in, and they slopped mayonnaise and mustard on it.
They didn't even put ketchup in (where's the rhyme to that? Default No condiments - oh we'll put mayo and mustard splortches in, but no ketchup to balance it?) , so it was an unappetizing, slimy mess.
It took us ten minutes to explain what we wanted when we called to tell them they messed up.
It amounted to reading the ticket several times, confirming yes there were missing things and we'll be coming back by to have the proper food.
Finally get it straightened out, and go to pick up the remade food.
Now, this is already ten minutes past everyone being served, and one of us had food they didn't order.
Frustrated to begin.
Get there. Wait for service. Confirm that we're there to get the remade food. Cashier reads ticket back. Everything is there.
Get served. Get home.
Wanna know what they made?
Slapped a hamburger down, slapped a slice of cheese on it, dumped jalapeños, threw in a handful of chipped bacon, then smothered it in chili.
A clearly written ticket through the app, with plenty of time before pickup (about 20 minutes or so) to make sure it was correct, easily read - messed up twice.
The person whose food that was, that wasn't correct either time, ate 45 minutes after everyone else.
That's bull.

Read moreVERY POOR customer service! I have/had the Sonic App. I ordered a couple of 44 oz. drinks, which are supposed to be 1/2 price at all times. The App just spins when you get to the place your order screen. Then it times out. I ordered the drinks through the drive thru, the showed the manager the spinning app. First she tried to blame my phone (oops, 1 day old Gal. 9 Note); then she blamed the phone service, then she blamed the Camp fire, then she said the app just doesn't seem to like certain phones, then...(I'm thinking how about just selling the drinks at 1/2 price & be done) she offers to discount 1 of the 2 drinks. Why not both? That's good customer service. I finally gave her my card (same one on the account) told her to charge me what she wanted, so she charged me full price. When I complained about the poor service, treating customers that way in a small town, she asked me to leave & closed the window on me. (At no time did I raise my voice in the entire conversation) Okay! I left. If you don't care about courteous, good service, go to Sonic in Oroville, CA; otherwise STAY AWAY. THE OROVILLE SONIC, "America's Drive In (not)" is HORRIBLE. Bring on "In & Out" for a late...
Read moreReally hate to leave this kind of review but this was a really weird experience over all. Took our order, waited around 40 mins & when no one came out we checked in to see if everything was good. Girl on the headset said that there was no order placed on our spot. We told her our order again, which spot we were at, and she said she’d check and if the order wasn’t put in, she’d go ahead and put it in again. Another 15 mins go by with absolutely no communication whatsoever. We check in again and ask about the order and the girl on headset seems very confused and asks us what our order was. We tell her, and she says that the order wasn’t reordered because “it had already been brought out.” We cut our losses and said not to bother, we’d go somewhere else. It’s fine if there was a mix up and it just went to the wrong spot, but a little communication would have been nice, since we waited another 15 mins and they didn’t even bother to check back in and tell us this. We ended up waiting almost an hour for an order that was never put in. Hopefully this was just an off night, but it was definitely really frustrating for a small...
