Staying in the area for a week on business and have been able to try a few different BBQ places. On a return trip I was most anxious to return to Bandana's. Thus far every meal I've had at Banadan's have been among the best I've had in the area. Upon arriving you can smell the natural smoke (hickory?). I've tried the ribs, brisket, turkey, pulled pork, and burnt ends. All were very flavorful with just the right amount of smokiness. Ribs were tender, but still had just enough "bite" that they weren't mushy. The turkey is noteably extraordinary. Tender, juicy, thickly sliced "chunks", not thin deli style slices I've seen elsewhere. Sauces provided have deeper flavor and more varied flavor than some of the other BBQ places I've tried in the area, some of which came up a little bland. Due to dietary restrictions I haven't tried many of the sides other than the green beans and coleslaw but both were tasty and what I expect for an accompanyment with BBQ. The grilled texas toast is awesomely done as well. Service has been friendly and prompt, with food delivered quickly, follow ups at an appropriate frequency. Had a pleasant, though brief conversation with tonight's server Heather. But honestly, all of the servers I've had were all similarilty attentive. What I can only assume is the shift manager has come around during each meal to assure everything was to my liking as well. Atmosphere is exactly what you expect of a "BBQ joint". It's not "posh" but that's not what BBQ is really all about is it?...

My family stopped in for a quick bite before heading home. We were on a bit of a time crunch, so when my ribs weren’t quite up to par, I didn’t make a fuss or say anything—just not my style. The service was great, everyone was friendly, and the rest of the food was really good.
When we were checking out, our very kind waitress asked how everything was. Since she asked directly, I felt I should be honest. I wasn’t looking for a discount—the meal was already budget-friendly and came in under $10. But she insisted on taking the ribs off the bill, which was very thoughtful.
Then, as we were leaving, what I assume was the manager or maybe the general manager stopped us—and to our surprise, gave us an extremely generous gift card.

Read moreCame here because we had heard their smoked turkey was very good. It was excellent! Moist, with a hint of smoke. Not heavily smoked, you could taste the underlying turkey. The portion was generous. We also had garlic bread that was toasted and crunchy, but shy on garlic. The BBQ beans were a favorite of everyone because they were not heavily dosed with onions, which I consider a major turn off. Service was fast and efficient, the wait staff came back frequently without being intrusive. Prices were on average with most BBQ joints. Overall, the group of 6 were pleased and will be back. Four of the group are from Central Texas, and know what good BBQ is (Black’s, Mueller’s, Cooper’s, Snow’s, etc.).
