Regular customer who will never return.
Itâs COVID, and weâre trying to support the local businesses. Husband and I ordered takeout tonight for the two of us and were quoted $44. My husband questioned the charges as we ordered:
2 Don Burritos ($21) One small guacamole ($3.50) One large queso dip ($6)
TOTAL = $30.50 (all prices quoted from their site)
We asked to provide chips with the dips, and while we figured theyâd be somewhat complementary, we wouldâve been okay with a small upcharge considering the circumstances.
When the bill was questioned and my husband asked whether the $13.50 was a mistake for a bag of chips and salsa they said no and that this was their policy for all takeout orders.
If I go to the restaurant and order this meal I get chips with the dips I order. In fact I just get chips and salsa at the table without even ordering dips. Charging $13.50 for chips and salsa when I already spent $9.50 on two dips that have to be eaten with chips is absolutely taking advantage of the customer. While the burritos were a meal on their own, some chips and dips were essentially worth $23 in Cozumels eyes.
Times are tough for the business owner and the consumer right now. Prior to COVID we visited Cozumel 2x a month.
We never plan to return after the manager could not see our point. I already make better Mexican at home and I have no desire to support a business who doesnât care about their...
Read moreThis place made my ancestors cry....this is not authentic at all my husband and I were extremely disappointed. We went in for lunch and decided to give this place a try. Moving from Arizona we knew it probably wouldnt be the greatest but again we went with low expectations. I ordered the tamales and my husband ordered the chimichanga. Before our food we were given chips and salsa and some sort of white dip. We also ordered some bean dip. Sadly the chips were stale and the salsa tasted like watered down tomatoes no spice at all!!! The dip I originally thought was cheese dip tasted like some weird mayo tarter sauce....WHO SERVES MAYO AT A MEXICAN RESTAURANT?!?! We got our bean dip pretty quickly and we were excited until trying it. Unfortunately it was lukewarm at best and still cold in the middle!!! Disappointed we waited for our food to come. We still had hopes the food would be good. In a few minutes the main course came out. I initially thought I got the wrong order because my tamales didnt look like tamales. I cut into one and from first bite was immediately turned off. A dense masa with no meat but unseasoned ground beef on top and soggy melted cheese on top. THIS IS NOT A TAMALE!!!!! EVEN THE RICE AND BEANS WERE TERRIBLE NO SEASONING?!?! MY HUSBAND'S CHIMICHANGA WAS A MICROWAVEABLE FROZEN BURRITO THEY HAD FRIED!!!!
NEEDLESS TO SAY IF YOU WANT TRUE MEXICAN FOOD NEVER EVER...
Read moreThis was one of the worst mexican restaurants I have eaten at. Upon sitting at the table, the chips were stale, and the salsa tasted like something out of a can. There was also some strange mayo dip thing. I ordered a margarita and it again it tasted like it wasn't fresh and was just a cheap mixer and had hardly any tequila in it. I ordered the enchiladas Cozumel and my girlfriend ordered the carne asada. The enchiladas were advertised as crab and shrimp. They were made with pollack (artificial crab) and had a fishy taste like it was old. It also smelled pretty bad. The carne asada was terrible. There was no flavor other than salt. It was also not grilled. The jalapenos were out of a can and not fresh or grilled. The cost was cheap, but I would rather pay more for better food. I went here by mistake confusing the place with Takiza (I'm not from Oshkosh). With some great mexican food in Green Bay and Milwaukee, I'm confused on why this place is rated so high on here, unless its by people who don't eat Mexican food at smaller establishments where latinos are the primary customers. The vegetables that were with the enchiladas were good though and the...
