tl;dr Pros: Ticket check in, food
Cons: No sound proofing to adjacent theater, dirty seats, can hear theater door slamming when someone enters/exits, soda was nearly all seltzer
This last experience was the straw that broke the camel's back. We (wife and I) are done with Marcus in Oshkosh.
We bought tickets through Fandango, and the process of getting our tickets was quick and fairly standard. Next, my wife headed to the concession area while I used the bathroom. When I rejoined her, she was ordering food at Zaffiro's (A separate concession area offering a selection of beer and food). The food we ordered was better than we had expected. So far, everything is smooth and any minor things that happened wouldn't even be worth writing about.
Until we got into the theater...
When we sat in our seats, I immediately reached my hand down to find the button to recline, and was greeted by popcorn, wrappers, and all kinds of garbage hiding in my seat. Still not a breaking point for me though, gross, but not a breaking point. Next, we notice that: EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. someone leaves/enters the theater the door slamming shut sounds like someone throwing a wooden pallet off of a roof. I was thankful that only one or two people had to get up and leave during the movie, so it wasn't that distracting.
The thing that made me want to turn to my wife and leave was the sound from the adjacent theater. With all of the money it appears they have thrown into updating and revitalizing this theater, it looks like sound proofing wasn't one of those things. We went to see a horror movie. It was the kind of movie that has long moments of silence with someone wandering through some creepy area while the tension builds. So the entire movie went like this: -Enter the protagonist -Walks around long abandoned area -Hears creepy sound and walks toward it while the music drops out to build tension
CUE LOUD ROCK OPERA PLAYING IN THE THEATER NEXT DOOR
A couple other things that the staff/management could have easily prevented - The tables in the "eating" area were covered in a layer of sticky goo. The soda we got turned out to be nearly all seltzer water, but we unfortunately did not start to drink and notice it until the movie had...

I haven’t been to this theater since I was a kid. I was fortunate enough to come from Green Bay to Red Granite and get my older cousin and we went for lunch and this theater to taking a show and had a great time together.
In my younger years, I would go to the theater often. What I like about the theater is the staff was very helpful. The inside is very clean and they have many screens to watch a movie that you want to see.
If getting your popcorn is a must for a soda or any good snacks they are plenty of staff to meet your order demands and they even have an area where you can order off your phone and then pick up your order
Love the newer seating where you have an actual La-Z-Boy type share and care of just your seat tree viewing pleasure! Inside of our theater was very very clean. I like that we ordered our tickets off our phone and we just walked in scanned into our electronic seats, and we got to go to the theater in plenty of time to watch the previews before the movie started.
Would recommend this theater to anybody like I said it’s very clean. The staff was very helpful and professional.
This theater is conveniently located right off Highway 41. If you are in Oshkosh home of the EAA airshow convention or in town for one of the many draws, this city has the offer in the summer months like life, fast and country fast. Make sure you stop in and taking a show. If you have time, this will be the place to go!
Until the next review, Steve-O...
Read moreThe theatre itself is quite nice with large screens and comfortable chairs, and they do a good job keeping it clean. The service, however, really needs to be rethought and overhauled. It takes far too long to get through the concession line. The totals for any item aren't rounded to an easy to add number, so this ties the personnel to a cash register to calculate and apply tax, and requires additional time providing customers their change. If things were rounded to easy to add totals that included tax, then the staff could calculate totals on the fly and improve throughput. Also, it never fails that they have supervisors standing around generally doing nothing instead of helping the concessions or ticketing. Waiting in an excruciatingly slow line when there's only one register open but seeing personnel standing around is not a good look. This is especially true when you're in a hurry, which is generally the case at a theatre so you can get into or back to your show. The concessions would benefit from allowing the person running the register to also support getting the items (soda, popcorn, etc.) versus having them standing idly by while only one person is actually doing the serving. In my last visit they also had outdated deals posted that stated 20% off concessions if you're a movie club member. When I asked about it, they said it was something they used to offer but don't anymore. Then why have the sign up?
Ultimately they need to greatly improve the pace in ticketing and especially concessions to get people to their seats...
