Ok , so. My family has been going to this place for YEARS. We have all loved us some major China king action. We even have a marriage in the family that happened here. THAT is how much we have loved this place. I still love this place. I always will. But I am wondering what happened. They used to be Sooo good. And I still very much enjoy the Mongolian BBQ. That is priceless for me. I can make whatever I want and it's always good and as healthy as I want it to be. I like that they have sushi. I do not like that almost all the sushi has cream cheese in it or spicy Mayo on it. I am not from Wisconsin and I'm not sure if this is a Midwest thing or not , but eew, not for me. I like cream cheese on so many things. But not in sushi. I digress. This place is still good and has A LOT of potential to be even better and I hope they step up their game. Starting with , better , happier more connective service. Better recipes for some things ( chicken sticks , china1 got you guys way beat) ( don't feel bad they got the best over any where not just you guys) , more options for other things , such as sushi and drinks . But we do enjoy this place very much and I wish I could give a five star. Now , another thing I always try to make sure I get in these reviews for everyone , the bathrooms. This place has great bathroom equipment. The sinks are redone and very nice looking , the stalls are beautiful wood looking and privacy is there. But the sinks are a bit high for toddlers to reach with no step stool in the bathroom. Also, please I am praying somebody from this restaurant reads this , cause why!? Why!? Is your bathroom Sooo damn cold!??? The experience of peeing in this bathroom for me and my toddler in the women's room ? 🥶🥶🥶🤯I just don't know how those ladies who work here do it all day/ night. So please turn up that heat!?? We will continue to eat here because it is still a good place and a family tradition at this point , and the only real Chinese buffet in town. You guys have the potential to take advantage of a real racket , and I hope you do and prosper! Especially your location , next to the theater. It's just mind blowing you're not lined up out the doors anymore! But I hope that happens again...
Read moreAVOID. I've been eating chinese food and buffets all my life, this is by far one of the worst. FOOD: Do not recommend. All the food there practically tastes the same towards the end. Mongolian BBQ is great idea, but it doesn't matter what you have to your plate, will taste same anyway. Nothing unique. 98% Cooks there are Mexican, please don't call it chinese food. I call it Fraud chinese food. SERVICE. Worst in town. We were there with a large group (8). When we got our check, there was a service charge (what the?) we were never told about, at this time it was not listed on the board behind cashier. No sure if it's listed now. But beware of the hidden charges. We even called the police to help us sort this matter of unfair charges. OPD acknowledge that the charge they added on was not posted anywhere, so I asked what they could do, nothing so I asked who we could talk to. OPD says the Attorney General's office. Then here's the exciting part... When the owner realized this, he said it straight out "Go, you are not welcome here!" pointing towards the door. Do not support this place. There are plenty of good chinese restaurants in town. I've been around long enough to tell you that we used to eat here a lot, before the buffet burned down, then it was reopened, this time with poor management and...Not sure if true, but I heard they've used dog meat at one time or another.
Good luck, and if you like it... good for you. Just be aware of what you put...
Read moreWent to China King yesterday 8/1/23 for the first time in approximately 4 years. Had been reluctant to return since the outcome in the past was always the same, everyone spends half of the night in the bathroom afterward. Took about 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were waiting by the front desk. When we were finally seated in a booth near the windows on the west side of the building, everyone looked at one another and commented on how HOT it was . It was in the mid 80's outside, but much, much warmer inside. We asked to be moved to the other side of the restaurant where it was a little cooler, probably only in the upper 70's on that side.
It only got worse from there. The food was hot, but much of it lacked flavor. The chicken skewers were overdone on the outside and slimy on the inside, absolutely disgusting. There were flies flying all over the place, food had been dropped on the floor by others and was never cleaned up... My mom slipped on an orange wedge and nearly fell. The dessert area was nearly out of most things, which wasn't a big issue since the soft serve machine was actually working.
Was really hoping for a much better experience than we had, will likely be a very, very long time before we return. Thankfully we have some good Chinese take-out...
