I was cautiously optimistic based on all the positive reviews. We were really hoping to like this place, and we went all in with our first order: sushi deluxe, sashimi dinner, Japanese spring rolls and a chicken skewer appetizer - $50 worth of food. We ordered for pick up through the online ordering form, which was quick and efficient, but did not give us any indication of how long it would take. My husband went to pick up the food, and waited quite a while because the restaurant was very busy for Valentine's Day. OK. Totally understandable. Unfortunately when he got home with the food, it was not worth the wait. The biggest problem is that I did not receive what I had ordered, and paid for. I ordered the sashimi ($19) and received the regular sushi dinner ($17). The price difference is small, sure, but they are two very different dinners. The second major problem for me was that the maki were poorly rolled and had not even made the trip home in one piece. The cucumber maki had almost all unfurled by the time we opened the box at home, and the tuna maki that came in my dinner were a mess - the nori was poorly cut, and the rice was uneven. As for the sushi, the yellowtail was not fresh, and the cooked shrimp was tasteless. Our appetizers were also a bit of a disappointment, but I'm willing to chalk that up to the cold weather. Overall, it was just a disappointing experience. Is my belly full? Yes. But, unfortunately that's about the only (sort of) positive...
Read moreSo if the food wasn't okay I would have given them a one-star for their customer service. We walked in and said hi to Lady of the front she completely ignored our hello and just grabbed our menus and walked us to our table silently and then when we said thank you for setting us she just walks away and completely ignores us and goes back to chit-chatting with her friend behind the desk. The only person that showed us decent customer service is David he is absolutely amazing he kept checking up on us and make sure everything was okay. My dad ordered a beer and it came out warm because apparently their freezer isn't working which is kind of concerning cuz I don't know if they keep the fish with the alcohol but if they're freezers aren't working that means that that's a hazard. But the entire time we were there the two ladies that sat us and were supposed to be takeing care of us were completely silent would not respond to me or my dad's thank you or hello. and as we were leaving the only person to say ur welcome when we said thank you out of the three people that were behind the desk was David so if you're going there specifically ask for David as a server because he'll actually do his job unlike the...
Read moreWe are regulars here and for good reasons. Roy is the best Hibachi chef in the Valley. Hands down. He is funny, engaging, entertaining, and cooks really good food. My son absolutely loves him and won’t go anywhere else bc Roy isn’t there. We frequently have Angela as our server who is absolutely amazing - friendly, engaging, fast, and always takes care of us. We have a great experience with the other staff members as well. Prices are way more competitive than other Hibachi places in the Valley. They take reservations and you don’t need to wait for 2+ hours in the bar to be seated (like other local places). You actually get vegetables and not a pile of rubbish bean sprouts. Broccoli, carrots, onion, mushroom, and zucchini. Great drink menu and VERY reasonably priced. You won’t leave breaking the bank bc you ordered a few drinks.
For Management- My only suggestion is to consider upgrading menus, chairs and some of the infrastructure, and consider hiding access supplies from customer view (I.e. keep storage in back, not entrance). Keep “front of the house” presentable, clean and classy.
Overall, highly recommend and we will continue to be...
