Edit: I am changing my review to 5 stars (from 3 stars as the service and food was excellent from the beginning) as the management of The Hangar Bar and Grill contacted me and more then made it up for the confusion stated in my original review.
They went above and beyond to make it right and they will be on my list of places to recommend to anyone looking for a good airport dining experience.
Thanks Again The Hangar Bar and Grill management. And thanks for the excellent customer service.
Flew in to Oshkosh to have dinner, service was good and food was also good. However bartender ordered me the wrong dish which happened to be twice as much, asked if I was ok keeping it and he would make it right. In the end I was charged the full price anyways. I called and talked to the manager, manager didn't seem to care that much either about what happened.
I guess I am too polite to have accepted the wrong dish, paid for the full price and wanting a good customer service, maybe if I was a crazy loud obnoxious customer, someone would have listened better.
The management should have offered a gift card to prove that it was a one time thing and it would not happen again or at least to give the discount on the item ordered wrong by the waitstaff to match the original item ordered price.
Unfortunately I can no longer recommend The Hangar to my friendly pilots and customers when they ask for a nice airport restaurant if they gonna get the bad end on a mistake made by...
Read moreThis past Saturday my wife and I were looking for a place to have lunch in Oshkosh and a friend recommended The Hangar. We said lets give it a try as I knew it was under new ownership and thought it would be interesting to see how the service and food had changed from when it was the Charcoal Pit II. We each ordered a side salad which exceeded our expectations with the variety of items on the plate. I also had a cup of their soup of the day and wished that I had gotten a bowl. For my entree I had liver and onions with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. The liver was very tender and I was very satisfied. My wife ordered the 8 oz tenderloin for $15.95 and when it was placed in front of her we both commented on how it looked just like what you would see served in a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. When she took her first bite she said "This is the best steak I've had in years"! When she tried her baked potato she commented on how much flavor it had given that many baked potatoes she's ordered over the years have been tasteless. We were given a basket of rolls which were so good we asked for a second basket which was readily provided in addition to more butter. My wife had several Bloody Mary's which she enjoyed while I had several draft beers which were served in chilled pint glasses. The food was exceptional as was the service and although we do not live in Oshkosh we plan on making a stop at The Hangar a monthly event. To say that we were pleasantly surprised would be an...
Read moreDecided to check this place out during EAA as we wanted to watch the planes come in. It has a great patio outside with an awesome view.
Servers were great and checked up on us often. Ordered Caesar salad, Curd burger, watermelon bites and a wrap but without the wrap itself. We told the waitress two times that we didn't want crutons on the Caesar salad. It came out with croutons on. I explained I am gluten free so I wanted them to remake it not just pick the croutons off. The dressing didn't taste very Caesar like at all and it had tomatoes on it which I didn't recall seeing in the description. Taste was off. Deconstructed steak wrap was good although the sauce was very spicy and I like heat. Curd burger was cooked under what was requested and generally didn't have much flavor given all the things on it.
Overall we felt that the food was tasty but the flavors were just "off". Nothing tasted like we expected and we weren't overly thrilled with any of the food. I don't think we'd be back during a non EAA week especially since we paid $75...
