!!Record for your pets safety!! Extremely CONCERNING. Mine and my sisters cat went to get a minor medical appt done today, and she wanted me to record to see how our petâs experience was. This was a private video that was going to be sent privately NOT posted publicly, I did nothing wrong, and was within my rights to record MY pet.
Mind you I donât record people who I donât know and especially not without their permission. And I told them that afterwards. The Veterinarian, as soon she noticed me recording said âDo not record meâ I said âOh no Iâm not recording peopleâ and she said âNo still, domestic abuse. So donâtâ so idk if she didnât hear me correctly but that became seriously alarming because domestic abuse for who?!? Yourself or My animal?!? Because LET ME FIND OUT that ANY VET OR VET TECH at PetCo is harming the animals in any way or doing something that they SHOULD NOT be doing and I 1000% will record and post it publicly, and I suggest anyone else do the same! Needles to say I have a full video of one procedure with no faces or names shown in the video.
And good thing I did because if I review that and anything is suspicious, Iâve already asked other employees for the vets name, so letâs ALL HOPE there isnât! And in regards to recording people which I sure as hll didnât but many other people with pets who go in everyday who very well might, you might want to think twice before working in a place open to the public. Wisconsin is not an âAll Party Consentâ state so if someone records their property and accidentally gets anyones face in it, IN A SPACE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC youâre sht out of luck OR you can ask them NICELY âFor my safety, please do not get my face in itâ. Mind you, if I remember correctly this person was wearing a mask on top of that, even then no offense NOT ONE person working there made me want to get their faces in my videos!
I 1000% get not wanting to be in pictures/videos, but telling someone not to record their pet getting a medical procedure done⊠No! 1000% that is alarming and concerning. For anyone reading this, do record yalls pets if theyâre getting medical needs done at PetCo. Be safe!
This situation was very concerning, idk if she made that as an excuse because that would be terrible! Idk if she only said that because she was doing something she wasnât suppose to be doing, or giving animals something she wasnât suppose to, maybe her set up was not the proper medical way to do things, now thinking of it, her set up was hidden behind multiple isles it was an odd set up, compared to the rest of the store. Especially since the groomers have open windows, why is the vet area so hidden??⊠They even had a rope from people getting too close, maybe so they donât see too clearly?! At first I thought maybe they had their reasons like us not touching our pets, but now after this⊠Iâm not so sure. This now truly makes wonder if the vets are doing something they shouldnât. Idk but I hope to God they are not!
PetCo I suggest yâall put up a big sign saying âIf recording your Pets, PLEASE DO NOT get any staff faces in video/photos for Privacy reasons.â If that Vet was smart, knowing she works in a store Open to the Public with people who love their pets and take pictures/videos all the time, that wouldâve been a smart idea if she was ever so concerned.
And PetCo the day you tell people to NOT record their own pets in your store that is Open to the Public, thatâs when as a Pet Owner I would get so scared. That is alarming and concerning, I hope yâall treat animals as they should be, and not harming them!
Better yet, get a Vet who is not afraid to hide anything that theyâre doing.
The rest of the store staff was nice and welcoming, Vet and vet techs were suspicious after the whole situation, asking me to delete any thing taken, and I told them I didnât get anyones face in, I recorded MY PET!
Stay safe everyone,...
Read moreMy family and I have been here many times for our fish tank needs and up until today, I have had amazing experiences every time. Our son is on the spectrum and loves the way The staff interacts with him normally as he gets Very excited to look at all of their tanks, since it is one of his special interests. We went again today, mind you the store is out of town so we drive 30 minutes out of our way to get here, and were treated completely differently. Our cashier was extremely nice, however, While looking at the tanks, like we usually do, there were a few wet floor signs That my son needed to step around to be able to look at the turtle tank. No big deal, like I said weâve been here many times & the floor around the tanks is typically wet so weâre used to navigating around the signs & carts. While my son was happily stimming At the turtles, The Male employee behind us snappily asked us if we could give them space, To which I agreed and apologized while trying to move my son Quickly. At this point, there was at least a solid 5 feet of space between us and the Employees as it wasâŠwe still quickly obliged out of respect. The female employee next to him decided to then interject very rudely & in an excessively nasty tone that âthatâs obviously why the wet floor Signs are upâ and snickered. Weâve ran into our fair share of ignorance from the general public about our sons autism but to come from employees?? Simply unbelievable & unprofessional to hire someone who treats any customer like this, let alone completely unwarranted. Now shocked, instead of looking around any further, we took the items that we needed and went to check out. I donât think we will ever be back, not only was the treatment unnecessary, but we were initially being extremely respectful as there was no signage other than the wet floor signs saying that we needed to stay out of that area (???) Very unfortunate since my autistic son loved the store, but we will take our business elsewhere after being treated like so. I think the employees would benefit from more inclusive training on those disabilities that might not always be...
Read moreNot very happy with this place. When I first moved to the area I went in to purchase dog food and a feeder mouse for my snake. I was told by an employee that they don't sell feeders, only to find out a couple of weeks later they do in fact sell feeders. Weird. My twice a week trips there have been more annoying than anything and I have stopped bringing my dogs with me all together due to the fact that I am harassed by employees the ENTIRE time I am shopping as they attempt to badger me into purchasing their puppy classes. Seriously, every single employee there will hit you up for classes and then the check out clerk will drive the nail in as you attempt to hustle out of there. But don't think for one minute that leaving the dogs at home stopped the harassment. Nope. They are relentless. Just purchasing a dog toy or dog food will get them circling around you and shoving puppy class pamphlets in your bag! I know this isn't the employees fault, I understand that the management makes them upsell the classes. However, they need to start recognizing regular customers and stop asking after the millionth time. I have resorted to driving to a neighboring city to go to the pet store there so I can actually bring my dogs with as they like to walk around the store peacefully. This petco is pretty small compared to other petco's I have been to, their prices are higher than other local pet stores and they rarely have good deals going on. Honestly, I could deal with the lack of employee knowledge, high prices, lack of sales and how small the store is if I wasn't badgered about the puppy classes EVERY time I walk through the door. I will shop elsewhere for...
