I usually go the Coach's on 135th. This is the only time I tried this one on College, and what a huge difference. The Staff is very rude, service is very poor, and in all we had a very bad experience. We are 2 families of 4 each and 2 adults. The hostess promised to put us in one table with a 45 minutes wait. After the long wait, they said we can only split you in a table of 6 and another of 4, that is all we have. If we knew, we would have went to another restaurant. After we ordered, the food came to the table of 4 first then to the table of 6. The waiter, didn't check on us at all after we got the food. At the end, when we're done, she came and I told her the chips are quite burned in my order and also in another plate. She rudely said, this happens some times and the other person has few chips left in her plate. After that, she brought the checks, and there was 20% gratuity service added to each one. When we disagreed that we should pay it, as we were not together in one table and not served at the same time, they started being very rude and loud and threatened to call the police if we don't pay. I felt like they were very rude and really aggressive in dealing with the situation. I would never go to Coach's again, really wanted to voice my concerns to the owners regarding...
Read moreHonestly, the best wings I have ever had from a restaurant. I ordered the Buffalo wings double fried (1lb for $15.00) and was expecting a plateful. What I got was 7 HUGE pieces of chicken. 6 flats and 1 drummie. it came with 6 smaller celery sticks and a side of ranch. They came out steaming hot. I had to eat most of the celery before I could even think of touching the chicken. When I was able to eat the chicken however, it was still crispy, juicy and full of flavor. It was not very spicy at all, which is kind of a downside, but still had really good flavor. The bartender was very attentive (it was the lunch rush), and knowledgeable about the different types of craft beer on tap. They had multiple big screen TVs playing all different baseball games at the time so you got a nice mix instead of having to watch the same thing on every TV. The service was spectacular, the food was amazing and the ambiance was incredible. 5* all around! If I'm ever back in the KC metro area for work, I will definitely...
Read moreThis spot has become a go-to for us because it’s close by and always an easy choice for food and drinks. I’ve lost track of how many times we’ve been here, but it’s a lot.
Our most recent visit was this past Thursday for happy hour. Things started well, but our server disappeared and we went without drinks, to-go boxes, or a check until I finally had to ask the host stand for help. This isn’t the first time service has dropped off here, and unfortunately it has happened with more than one server. On this visit, the server even laughed and said something like, “I know you feel like I forgot about you.” After waiting twenty minutes with no drinks while the tables around us were served, it did feel that way.
Even with those service issues, we’ll still come back. The food is solid bar and pub fare, and the vibe is what you’d expect from a good local sports bar. If you’re looking for a casual place for grub and drinks, this is as good a spot as anywhere...
