Okay,
Let's start off with the obvious. They JUST opened. They are very slammed and I understand the amount of effort that goes into sustaining a business.
With that said, there were so many little things that will have me hesitating to come back. I will probably only try them one more time when they are less busy.
First, your sanitation. Every one of you had long black hair in the most sloppy low ponytail. The girl who was handling the donuts (albeit with a spatula and this was the only reason I didn't immediately walk out) was touching her bangs and pulling pieces of hair out of her lip gloss WITH GLOVED HANDS! She seemingly had no recognition that she was doing so. I counted over a dozen times of her doing so while I was in line and never did she change her gloves. The younger girl had the same issue and she tucked a piece behind her ear. No. Glove. Change.
Second, and possibly the reason for the lack of sanitation and food handling knowledge. There were literally children helping. On multiple occasions there was a young boy (maybe 10?) Carrying serving bowls of ice to the front from the back kitchen. He coughed directly onto said ice and then dumped in into the deep freezer. There was an equally young if not younger girl who was running things back and forth from the kitchen and also...playing in the lobby and bathroom? I witnessed her several times going in and out of the lobby and bathroom with the boy.
3rd, your order system and recall. I was asked my name, she took it and then said my corn dog would be 20 minutes. That's absolutely fine. Yall just opened and are so busy. What is not find is that both the girl behind the register and the guy called out "tony" 2 times and did not say my order number and then gave up? Oh and looping back to the sanitation issues. Once they gave up trying to find who belonged to the corn dog. The guy sat it OPEN next to the cash register....where some reason is also where the condiments are even tho there is a large section of open counter near the entrance that would be perfect for condiments and would make ease of line flow but I digress. My corn dog sat open. Where every single customer walked up and hacked all over it. No attempts were made to find me until I realized what was happening and walked over to see if I was the unfortunate owner of the counter dog. It was cold. And besides that, I'm immune compromised. I ended up giving it to a family member as I can't take that risk. Quite frankly. The only reason I did not immediately complain and ask for a new one is I wasn't about to wait another 20 minutes.
The donuts are good. But they aren't worth it in my opinion. There is a local mom and pop bakery who do mochi donuts on Wednesdays and these don't even reach a fourth the level of his. I purchased an ube boba. One, boba is an extra charge? For...a boba? And it was so watered down that there wasn't any ube flavor. The only taste was very watery black tea.
I absolutely love the concept. I do. And I wish you all the best I truly do. But the amount of food handling violations and problems with child labor and communication errors are very concerning to...
Read moreI wanted to start off by staying this is WAS my first time coming here and the host were not very friendly I know it was busy but I couldn’t even get a hello. The girls name was An T on the receipt she was rushing me like crazy. I wanted to get a 6 pick for me and my mother and before I could even also had my boba she said “is that all?” Didn’t even give me a chance to order my boba drink. I got my milk tea and it was horrible. I’ve had milk tea before but it shouldn’t taste like straight up milk with a sliver of sauce on the bottom. I went back and told one of the girls and one girl with tan hair very rudely said “well… it’s milk tea.” I’m not ignorant. I know what a milk tea is…I didn’t even want another drink I just wanted my money back. And she did. For my first time coming here I didn’t leave happy. The mochinuts are very good and me and my mother loved them but this place definitely is NOT cheap You’ll be spending around $11 for a three pack and $19 for a six pack. but it’s worth it. but who ever An T is and the other girl with the tan hair is...
Read moreBeen here at this location at least three times so far since opening and honestly not impressed at all compared to all the other Mochinut franchises from other states. I always love to give businesses extra chances to improve themselves, but this place seems to go downhill. The food quality and flavorings are way off each time. Honestly, I'm not very happy with the drinks either. Light ice ordered, expect the cup to come about 75-80% full. The mochi donuts are not fresh, somewhat hard, and stale. Other states that have this franchise always made fresh each time ordered rather than just lay around premade. Also, if you use a card rather than cash, expect an extra 3% surchage on top of everything. Full of unwanted surprises all in one. Honestly, they should let customers know prior to paying what to be expected. All in all, I don't recommend this place. Fun to try once,...
