Boba tea is probably one of my favorite drinks. The dynamic flavors, the soft pop of a good boba, it's a wonderful experience. Usually. This is the first time in which I was so disappointed as to what should have been a good experience that I decided to write a review, of which I've done less than a handful of times before.
I noticed something was a bit off while in the store, where I watched the employee take a rag which was sitting in a bucket of water next to the machine wipe of the entire cup 3 different times as the heat seal failed three different times and the drink spilled. I don't care about the heat seal failure, I'm sure that happens more often than we all realize. What I do care about is the health risks involved with a dirty rag being used to clean plasticware that people will be consuming food from.
She eventually got the lid on, and I figured I'd at least give it a try, as the heat sealed part didn't come into contact with the wet rag. This is when the experience went from mediocre to just plain bad. The boba was hard in the center, so either very stale or just undercooked. And it tasted disgusting, which leads me to think it was stale. Boba pearls usually don't have a super strong taste (for the plain ones), but these definitely had a strong stale taste. The tea itself also tasted off, with a flavor like old milk or something mixed into it.
Either way, extremely disappointed. I will not be returning to this place anytime soon. It's been 30 minutes since I last sipped on it and I can still taste that foul taste in my mouth, hence the decision to write this review.
I'm sure others have not had as bad of an experience, so I am by no means saying this is a regular occurrence, but even so, this shouldn't have happened in the...
Read moreWorst customer service ever! Came in with my husband. He wasn't sure what he wanted so he needed to look at the menu. We was then told by the staffs if we're together then only one person can be in the store (which I understood). But how can he stay outside the store to look at the menu and decide what he wants when you guys don't post up a menu on the window or anywhere else visible beside inside the store on the screen? After my husband decided what he want to do he did go outside and wait. I waited 20min for someone to take my order. I know they was purposely ignoring me and make me wait to take the order as they proceed to "clean up" and do online orders that was just printed in the printing machine. After I got done ordering I was then told to go wait outside because they can't have more than 6 people in the building. So I'm wondering why did they not say that to the other people who have ordered ahead of me and more people was coming in after me to order? They also messed up on my order when I have ask for bubble in one of my drink. When it came out there wasn't any bubbles and they gave me an attitude about fixing it. Not sure if the management or owner have changed but this is the worst customer service I ever experienced at...
Read moreSo the first time I visited I thought the place was awesome. I ordered a coconut milk tea with herbal jelly and bubbles, and it was great. The service was awesome as well.
The last time I went was a bit of a disappointment, I ordered a suggestion from one of the staff, taro milk green tea with herbal jelly and bubbles, they were out of the regular bubbles and only had the minis. Which was not a big deal. When I got my drink, I didn't like it at all. It tasted like buttered popcorn. I went to the counter thoroughly bummed and told them I didn't like it. They asked if I wanted to pay for another drink. I said no, threw it away and left.
I've worked and managed in customer service for a while and just thought the response to my situation left something to be desired. I understand it's my fault that I didn't like it, I was just hoping to leave with...
