I was excited to get a burger at this spot- it’s close to my office and I was craving a cheeseburger. It was well reviewed, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. It was lunch on a Monday and wasn’t busy, but they were understaffed with one server for the entire restaurant and bar. The server did what she could but service dragged. I put my order in about 10 min after arriving and it took another 30 minutes for the cheeseburger to get to the table. I was there over my lunch break so this timeline wasn’t great.
The burger was well assembled but the patties had the look and taste of store bought—they were perfect circles and were cooked all the way through and didn’t have much flavor. If the patties were freshly assembled, they had been under-seasoned and overcooked—bummer. The fries were good, but I didn’t go for fries.
Something I found strange was a 3% fee for “credit card processing” even though I used a debit card. This fee also wasn’t disclosed in advance. I think passing fees along to customers after the fact is tacky. If you are incurring expenses just account for those and raise your prices accordingly so customers can make informed decisions and not get surprises when the check hits the table. I had to get back to work so I didn’t have time to ask the server about it.
After fees and tax and tip I paid about $17 for a burger and fry meal that took almost an hour. I want to support a local spot but didn’t really see a compelling reason to come back when I can go to Shake Shack and get a better burger for cheaper in a quarter of the time. Looks like a good spot to watch a game. Not a great spot for a...
Read moreI am from Manitoba, Canada/ IBEW Local 2034 and attended the KC International Lineman Rodeo this past weekend with our Manitoba team. Our group stayed in an OP hotel, not far from Revel. I popped in 2 nights consecutively searching for an NA brew. Ciara was engaging and more than willing to provide input about available brews… sharing what she had tried herself. They were very tasty and she was the Hostess with the Mostest! She took the time to engage in conversation with me and her other patrons. We had some geography lessons and then I educated her about Canadian currency/ bills… I left her a pretty blue $5 Cdn note which she was thrilled to have as a souvenir… despite it’s meager $3.60 US value😉… big spender right 🤷🏻♂️! A few of us arrived at Guitars n Cadillacs last night and had the good fortune of bumping into Ciara and her husband Parker… super cool guy… as they were enjoying a night out together. Being the amazing ambassador that she is, Ciara introduced me and my colleagues to her husband and we had fun socializing awhile. This brand of hospitality and kindness will keep us Linemen coming back! The only suggestion I could make would be that perhaps Revel management may consider marking the annual KC Linemen Rodeo on their calendar. Hint hint…. Linemen love food and booze… and there are many of us staying in the OP area each year! Hope to see you next year Ciara! Revel mgmt… don’t forget that young lady’s Christmas bonus this year… she earns it each...
Read moreRecently visited Revel Sports Bar and it was an absolute delight! The highlight of my visit was their mouth-watering Burnt End Burger – cooked to perfection with a smoky and savory flavor that tantalized my taste buds. Accompanying the burger, the Chard Wings were a revelation – perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining juicy and flavorful on the inside.
What truly sets Revel apart is its vibrant atmosphere. The place is equipped with tons of TVs, making it an ideal spot for sports enthusiasts. Additionally, the garage doors that open up on pleasant evenings add a unique charm, blending the indoors with the outdoors seamlessly.
