We've been loyal patrons to this establishment for years and have never had a bad experience ... until today. I was placing an order for my family of 5 and we always add an impossible patty for my 4 year old who does not eat bread. Normally, and for years we have been charged $8 for just the patty as an add on (that's what it is). Today the person who rang us up charged it as full price $11 and change. I told them that we are usually charged only for the patti and she proceeded to rudely tell us that we've been charged wrong and that there is no $8 patti, and that "impossible burgers are $11 anywhere you go, even burger king." I said: okay, but we are just getting the patti and that's what we have always been charged for it. She scoffed and said with her whole soul: "I'm the owner, you've been charged by kids who don't care about the money." I said, fine, you're the owner but we have had grown ass adults charge us the same thing. I the end, I paid the full price for the damn burger and wasn't even given the full burger, it was just lettuce and a patti 🙄. Its good to know that money is all that matters.
If she'd been kinder about it, I probably would not have been so upset, but JFC the attitude and the way she spoke to me was nothing but rude and condescending. We come here multiple times a month, but today will absolutely be the last time. I'm posting here and on other social media outlets, because frankly this was ridiculous. Thankfully, BECAUSE we have been such loyal customers we had a free quesadilla and truffle fries. That's the only thing that saved this lunch.
I would have walked out altogether, but we were actually really hungry and short on time. Again, we've never had any issues with any of the staff before this. Leave it to the owner. Glad your flavorless 11+ dollar overcharged burger was worth losing a long time customer. 2 impossible burgers from Target are freaking $6.00. Never...
Read moreUnforked is always a treat. They mostly serve food that doesn't need to be eaten with a fork: burgers and tacos made with the most "socially responsible" ingredients. This visit, I had an akaushi burger, made from akaushi beef, which has certain health benefits. (You cannot order the burgers cooked to order; they will come medium well, which is OK but the already outstanding burgers would be so much better if they were served medium or medium rare.) My husband and I shared Fundido Fries, which are fries topped with cheese and bacon. Heavenly! For dessert (because you can't skip dessert; after all, this is a Sheridan's business) I had the seasonal special lemon bar concrete (custard blended with a lemon bar) and my husband had the kiss my bundt, chocolate bundt cake filled with hot fudge, topped with vanilla frozen custard and raspberries. The desserts are outstanding! Once I asked for vanilla custard with hot fudge and it came blended, but otherwise the desserts have always been amazing. My husband also loves to order the $2 beer - a true value, to be sure. They have a couple of TVs which are usually tuned to sports channels and also have outdoor seating, which is best in late spring or early fall. Negatives? If you want water, they will charge you 20 cents for a cup; best to ask for a cup for water after you've already paid, because they will usually just provide them. Only once when we have ordered our dessert to go have they provided it to go; they usually serve it to be eaten there, which would be OK except we usually have leftovers and if you ask for a box, they will give you a cardboard box (not waxed), which is not really appropriate for ice cream. Really those are minor issues considering the outstanding food and atmosphere that...
