This morning my wife, our two children and I went to the target location in Overland Park on blue valley parkway and as we were self checking out around 10:30am on March 7th we noticed our gift card access code eligible because we must have scraped too hard. I asked the older gal named Kelly with shoulder length brown hair and dark rimmed glasses at the Guest Services area to assist and after she could not read the number as well I asked if she could assist with fixing the issue. She was reluctant and told us we had to call a customer service line (which she was working in the guest services area). So I asked if she could assist further by calling for us. She was extremely rude about it and made my whole family feel very uncomfortable and bad about ourselves. She called over a guy named Jeff who was extremely helpful and fixed the issue in less than 5 mins. As we went back to scan our items to pay I could see and hear the older gal Kelly talking about us to Jeff. This made my wife and I feel as though she thought we were trying to steal things. We paid and left and as we got to the car we had a very sick feeling in our stomachs so I went back in to show the letter we received with our gift card from our credit card company that morning. I let the older gal Kelly know how she made me feel and she kept trying to talk over me as I explained how I felt. I asked her to apologize and she did. I over heard she was a manager of sorts. I am in a service position where I deal with people and give incredible service in every interaction and The shadow she was casting for her employees was terrible. I love this location but will more than likely drive a little further to go to another because of Kelly or use...
Read moreI went in to get some groceries for my family and I honestly never want to go back. I wasn't able to find an item in the store since I just moved here and haven't been in a super target. When I tried asking a worker I was completely shoved off and they wouldn't tell me where the item was and just walked away. I was in a hurry so I just brushed it off because people have bad days. I finally found the item and went to the checkouts. While standing behind waiting to be checked out by the cashier, the customer in front of me started making fun of the cashiers looks and had no respect. I could not find any manager anywhere and no employee cared when I tried asking for one. While I was walking away I realized I forgot something and went to go back to the cashier but I saw he was talking to the manager and overheard the manger saying bizarre things to the cashier after he's already had a bad day I'm sure. Overall I'm never coming back, this is ridiculous! If you want to look for a job I would not go to this target. My son works for their company and they cut full time workers hours to part time hours. The workers at this Target do nothing but talk bad things on other employees. DO NOT...
Read moreDuring a return I processed today, I encountered Jon, a manager at 12200 Blue Valley Parkway, OP KS 66213. Unfortunately, the conversation took an uncomfortable turn when he questioned the authenticity of my receipt, the legitimacy of my purchase, and the validity of my payment card. Such statements are not only disheartening but also undermine the principles of effective customer service.
It is my belief that maintaining a respectful and supportive interaction with customers is crucial for a positive experience. America has always been notorious for ultimate horrible customer service with a lot of attitude. I encourage the team to explore exemplary customer service practices, perhaps looking to regions known for their hospitality, such as Asia and especially Japan, to enhance training and performance standards.
In a competitive global market, bad customer service can quickly kill a retailer unless it is pampered behind the scene to stay in business regardless. Such cases will only lead to deterioration of morality and work ethic. If you don't love providing customer service, there is no reason for you to be in this profession. You are better off earning money doing...
